Hello,
Skip tooth blades are typically used on animals with very thick coats, or if they are matted. They do not give a very even cut (slightly longer sections left behind) due to the lack of teeth on the comb, but do remove large amounts of hair. They are not meant to be used for the final cut. You would switch to your #4 or #4F blade to finish. Don't forget to clean and oil your blades about every 10 minutes to keep it from going dull prematurely. A Cool/Lube type spray is NOT a substitute for oil. Richard Southern Sharpeners |
