ok; pics from the boat pond; more to come soon!
|
|
Those are so cool!! It makes me wish we had been there!! You all look like you are having a great time. |
okay, so did any of the sheepies make it into the lake???? |
Luna attempted to go over the prow of the row boat. And I know some dogs were tring to drink the water over the edge of thje paddle boats. One stepped back off the dock ( I have a photo) and almost landed completely in the pond! But some helpful folks got him back out again! |
You got some great shots! I was really impressed that they all rode so well in the paddleboats. I was sure the wigglebums would go for a swim and even came prepared with beach towels for all of us, but remarkably, we stayed dry. |

My Sam (the klutz) slipped off the dock into the water. After we got him back out of the water he looked so proud of himself. He finally did something that none of the other sheepies had done. I hope that picture of him gets posted. And did anyone get a picture of Tammy's Beau laying down and drinking the water at the lake as Tammy paddled around? |
You guys should have trusted me on the issue of the boats. Sheepdogs make great navigators. LOL Truly once they are on the boat they just think of it like going for a car ride.
Harry knows what to expect now and wouldn't dream of "going for a swim" when we are "boating" and he likes swimming. We were very lucky to secure that venue. They never hurt for business and especially on Memorial Day weekend with decent weather. They agreed to open an hour early exclusively for us and give us a discount on the boat rental. I am going to contact them today to say thank you. |
I think the boats were my favorite memory of the weekend! So thank you Judi so much for that! I'll get the photos of Sam up shortly; I don't know how to get photos from my laptop to my main computer, but maybe I'll just upload them from the laptop!
I too brought beach towels to dry my dogs; fortunately my friend Riki caught Luna before she got more than one arm in! THAT I saw through my long lens, but by the time I hit the button to take the photo, I just got Riki looking horrified and Luna being pulled back out of the water! I'll post that too. |
Here's Sam, just moments after he backed off the "dock":
And Tonks getting a drink off the edge of the row boat; you can see Luna thinking about going for a swim: and the moment after Riki pulled Luna back into the boat; you can just make out the stream of water dripping from the pond to Luna's front leg: |
This one is a photo Adam took of us in the rain on Saturday. It had just begun to come down as we had finished ordering our lunches. We took shelter across the street from where we would have dined, under some awnings. Of course, with Fozzie's cool rain gear, he was unconcerned about the change in weather!
|
Alison....I love the pictures!!! You guys did a great job!!! I am so glad we have some pics from the CWE and the sheepies in the rain.
They all looked too cute in their rain gear. I thought it was so funny that most of the sheepies had raincoats..but most of the "parents" didn't even have an umbrella..(count me in that group!!!!) It was sooo nice meeting you..Tonks and Luna were so cute especially when they started playing together! |
Pictures from Saturday afternoon at the Soulard Dog Park.
Kerry with her Morgan, Simon and Chewie Simon was liking Morgan - followed him all over.... Kridtine and gang on the left - family time! - Kristine with the kids |
Here are a few of the photos I took on Saturday.
Cindy & Guinness in the paddle boat: Getting ready for the parade: Julie & Addie: Val & Heart: At the boathouse: Stephanie & Winston: Wyn, Joe & the mafia: Genevieve: I think this is Heart? Beaureguard, Clyde & Bear: Lunch in the central west end of St Louis: Leslie & my wigglebums taking a break in the bookstore: My little helper (niece Hayley) and Genevieve at the arch: Sheepiepalooza should come with a warning. TOO MUCH FUN can be exhausting!! |
Aw Lovely pictures... Looks like you had a wonderful day!!!! |
Tammy--- those pics are soooo good....
I LOVE the pic of Hayley and Genevieve at the arch!!! and ALL the sleepie sheepies and Hayley.... That is Heart with her rainhat on waiting for the parade.... THANKS soooo much for the flattering pic of me with my mouth wide open ...I so enjoyed it!!!!! (couldn't you have cut me out???? I would have paid GOOD money!!!! ) |
If you'd seen the other shot, Val, you would've been thanking me for posting this one instead. I culled the ones where anybody had a funky expression. |
Tammy those shots are so sweet... I love the sleepy wigglebums and Haylee. Just to darn sweet! |

Oh the smarta** comments I wanted to make to that statement. But I will opt for the realistic one: Nobody is looking at you anyway - just the cutie pie at the end of the leash. At least that is what I am looking at when there is a dog in the picture. |

Judi - I love this picture of you and London in the obedience ring:
She was looking straight at Joe as if to say "Hey Dad, this lady wants me to do WHAT?" Just remember you did ask for a dog that was untrained. |
Too funny!! London actually did quite well with Judi, Wyn. I couldn't get Genevieve to do a sit/stay for the life of me. If mama moves, she's coming with me. We've got some work to do.
A couple more shots from Saturday: |
I love the top one- no heads on the people too bad I can recognize my umm butt |
kerry wrote: I love the top one- no heads on the people too bad I can recognize my umm butt
Yeah - I recognized some unfortunate body parts of my own and was seriously happy about the head chopping Kids look cute! KB |
Harry getting ready to lead the parade:
Other sheepies getting ready to go: The parade: ...and a couple from lunch: |
I took most of my photos at the dog park on saturday afternoon, here's some of my favorite action shots (though there were many, many, many of them):
...and if we're not sick of my posts yet I have a few that are more portrait-y. |
My apologies, Kristine, Kerry & Dawn for chopping off your heads. I was concentrating on the pooches, obviously. I did get one that has your heads, but it was seriously out of focus. But, the pups were too cute not to post.
I'm really enjoying everyone's pictures. Please keep 'em coming!! |
Beaureguard's Mom wrote: My apologies, Kristine, Kerry & Dawn for chopping off your heads.
No, no, don't apologize!! I think Kerry, and I know I, was QUITE happy to be less than recognizable I'm just really enjoying seeing all of the pics. It's hard to explain to people who weren't there what it was like to turn around and here, there, everywhere, another sheepdog. Or four. Wild! Kristine |
I know! I told someone it was like kicking over an ant hill and watching them run everywhere - only with sheepies instead of ants.
One lady, who stopped to talk to us in the central west end on Saturday, made a comment that the OES must be the "in" dog of the West End because she'd seen them everywhere that day. |
Sam of the Baton Rouge Mafia fame:
More sheepies: What sheepdogs do best (Bummin' around): I was really lucky to catch these last few: |

KB LOL - well, I better chime in as the 3rd headless person!!! Yes, the pups all look adorable! Thank goodness they were the focus!! |
I guess you guys could say you lost your heads at Sheepiepalooza! |

OK, I am laughing....... |

Is this the infamous Sam of Saturday pond fame? I'm not sure I recognize him all dry and everything I was really lucky to catch these last few: Oh, I love this pic. This is Kerry and I discussing how to achieve world peace, offering solutions on how to solve the energy crunch, and debating the impact of the upcoming American Presidential Election on the world economy. Certainly we cannot possibly be discussing what dog people seem destined to discuss whenever two or more of us meet up, namely our dogs' digestive processes and output... KB |
Did anyone speak to the photographer from the local paper that was taking pictures of our sheepies in town sat while we ate ( Yes I did make it in time to have lunch ) He said the pictures would be in the local paper the next day. Of course I forgot to buy a paper. Those of you in St louis any of our sheepies in sun or mon. paper???? |

I wonder the same thing......He was asking us questions and taking oodles of pictures of everyone.... Also, I'm sorry to report that we fell asleep late friday night and woke up at almost 12pm saturday (EEEKKK) from lack of sleep from the drive up. I was so upset we missed the boating and the parade..... Michelina~ |

I will look into it tomorrow...while I am at work.... Maybe I can get a copy ...I will sure try and will let you all know what I find out. (Michelina...??? thanks for ALL your help with my "shopping spree"...I was sooo excited to use my purse and my little tote. I took BOTH to work with me and since some of my co-workers are NOT dog people I got some real funny looks. I just can't understand it???? One side of my purse is "normal" oh-hum~~~~~...the other side is wonderful, fantastic, chic and warms my heart every time I look at it!!!! Thanks again!!!!) |
Here are pictures of Foz on the paddles boats. We had a fantastic time although I know Foz was REALLY nervous. We did think he might jump out after the ducks but he was a good boy
|
The pictures are great you all look like you had a great time.
I'm so impressed none of the sheepies ended up in the water from the boats. Love all the photos |
Oh, but we did have a bit of a splash... and there is unfortunatly a photo or two to prove it.... Mia Culpa.... I was holding onto and should have been watching Sam a bit more closely when I saw a great photo op and had my camera to my eye and Sam decided to go for a quick little dip... Alas we did have a wet sheepie, but from the look on his face he loved every moment of it, attention and all! |
Hey Tammy, are you going to fess up to trying ( successfully ) to pick up a couple of guys in the West End? It is such a funny story and you were so cute when you realized it wasn't who you thought it was.... |
TylersMom wrote: Hey Tammy, are you going to fess up to trying ( successfully ) to pick up a couple of guys in the West End?
Details please!!!!! C'mon Tammy spill! |
OMG!! Leslie!! I cannot believe you brought this up!!
I was so embarassed and I do not embarass easily. Since it involved you, Judi, I'll tell. We were walking down the street and I saw Judi walking Harry our way. I wanted to ask her a question. I turned around to say something to Leslie, who was behind me, and Jil, who was in front of me said, "Here comes Judi in that car there, step out onto the street & flag her down". So, I took a few steps out into the street, dog leash in one hand and cup of coffee in the other, and as the car neared, I kicked my leg out, Chorus Girl style a few times, to get Judi's attention.....only it wasn't Judi. It was two guys and as they drove past, you could've knocked me over with a feather as I realized and then loudly exclaimed "THAT'S NOT JUDI!!" They drove a few yards down the street, turned around and came back by as I was still standing there, now with Jil & Leslie laughing their butts off at me, and they said "Need a ride Honey?" and they were laughing pretty hard, too. I'm pretty sure they knew I thought they were someone else, but it didn't keep me from dying of embarassament. After we stopped laughing, we saw where Judi had gotten off to - down one of those lovely side streets with the incredibly beautiful homes - NOT into her car. |
how funny! Sorry I missed it |

LOL - me too! |
L M A O !!!! well done!!!
Where was Hayley when all of this happened??? |
That will teach you not to listen to Jil. I am sorry I missed it too. That would have been a nice story to share on Sunday afternoon. |
Michelina - Hayley was there laughing at me, too.
I hate y'all missed it. It's not often I get to pick up two good looking men at one time. |

I hate y'all missed it. It's not often I get to pick up two good looking men at one time. Next time we know to stop and sleep at a hotel on the way up......That blow up raft with dog breath in my face wasn't cutting it!! That story is too funny!!!! |
I told you it was pretty funny!
Tammy, you are sporting some pretty cute legs these days, so I would not be too embarrased and besides, you were right, those two guys did figure it out and they just played along.... It was so fun to see you, such a proper southern lady, kicking her leg out to get some attention and lo and behold, she did.... it was just not the person she expected... and it was our fault anyway, as she pointed out, both hands were busy with dog and coffee. It was such a lovely afternoon and that was just a wonderful part of it. Leslie |

Whoa, whoa, whoa - one minute here! I saw the wet Sam being carted off by his dad, presumably to become un-wet, and so, fearing my only dog in show coat (luck being what it is) would also end up in the drink, handed her over for safe-keeping to this nice, responsible looking woman WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE LADY WHO LET SAM DETOUR INTO THE WATER??!!! (I can laugh now - she came back to me still in show coat and still dry ) Kristine |
That's right Kristine, But I did give you fair warning... I also noticed that no one would let me near the water again.... Hehehehehe |
Sam always has fluffy towels, and the air force dryer on hand
