I don't know much medically about it but I know Buddy had one until his swelling went away. I even called the doctor about it and she said it was normal.
Good Luck! |
They can always get erections.
I always say, the lipstick is out. |
As Elissa has said neutering doesn't prevent erections. As he gets older they will not be quite as, ummmmmmmm "large" but even without testicles there is still the ability for the penis to engorge.
I noticed with my maltese that it took almost two years for the erections to stop occurring. You do want to keep an eye out however and make sure that after a short while the penis does go down and retract, it is possible for hair to get caught and create a real problem. |
There are just some good reasons to have a female dog |

Kuzco had this problem too.
We were concerned about it and called the vet. She suggested putting KY on it to keep it moist, and to make sure hair didn't get stuck, and keep it stuck out.. Yeah, boy dogs... I made my hubby deal with the "dangley bit issues" ... Maisey and I laughed our butts off. |

I always say, the lipstick is out. Actually there is a difference between an errection and the "lipstick" hanging out. In a state of relaxation the red part may be exposed but it can actullay become engorges with blood and apear fully erect. can't believe we are having this conversation....... |

I had Frankie neutered about a 2 months ago. He locked with both of my females after his 'boys' were gone. The girls were in heat right after that. My vet said there was a chance he could still get them pregnant. Of course she didn't tell me that after the surgery. |
