(just wanted a topic I could read while I get dressed) |

Right this second I would be wherever the answers to this damn competency questionnaire are. I've been self employed too long Who knew applying for a job would be so hard.
Other than that I would be somewhere with Greg and Rufus, warm and sunny with a cool breeze, a nice chilled drink in one hand and a huge bowl of strawberries and ice cream in the other. Preferably very close to a beautiful clear sea and sandy beach. Don't ask for much do I? |
I would be making breakfast in bed for my DIL (it's her Birthday) in Hawaii. My son is in the Navy and is stationed there. I won't see them home for another 2 1/2 yrs. |
id be in a salon, getting my LONG hair dyed and styled! |
I would like to be spending the day with my granddaughter Jenah who celebrated her 12th Birthday yesterday. We live 1200 miles apart and I really miss her.
|
I would love more than anything to go to a sheppieloza with just me and shamu and it to be warm and to meet everyone |
i would be laying out by a pool with NO CELL PHONES OR EMAIL |
someplace sunny with a beach and nearer to my daughter. |
I would be in San Diego at the beach with my hubby and all my family and friends...(wearing LOTS of sunscreen). BTW, make sure to check the bottom of your feet when doing skin cancer checks (I love being the skin cancer police!) |
Kids would be with daddy while mommy got a pedicure, manicure, body wrap, facial, and full body massage w/a nice iced tea by my side.
edit: oh, and daddy couldn't contact mommy to ask where the bottle, liner, extra diaper, etc is for the one millionth time. |
On a nice, sunny, quiet beach. Sunscreen, umbrella. Stack of good books. Lemonade or iced tea. Nice seafood restaurant where I'd have a tab, just over the hill. No one around. Maybe I'd have an ipod for music if I wanted it, but usually, I just enjoy the sound of the waves. Can I be skinny and young enough to wear a bikini?
Or in the woods (no ticks), looking for wildflowers. Or in a hammock campside. |
Cute picture Violet!!!!!!! |
Nice thread topic, Joah.
I'm torn between taking a nap by the pool (which I'd LIKE to be doing) or home giving one of the wigglebums a bath (which I SHOULD be doing). |

Thanks Mrs J...that was Jenah and China last summer. |

Wow Violet, you must be so excited to get to see her again this summer. But how did you get that picture from the future? |
Grandmas have great powers. |
I would be wherever I had to be to see my hubby.....leave is coming up in June, yay! I don't care if I had to go to Iraq or what, I'd just like to be with him if only for a moment so I could get a real hug! |

Aw, I'm sorry. Here is a virtual I'm glad he will be home next month! Hmm, I like Mrs J's idea... A day at the spa for me, without having to worry about the kids or anything. Forget the Iced Tea though.... it's been a long time since I drank. I'll have an Apple Martini. |
It's been SO LONG since I had a drink or 5 too!! An appletini is SO my favorite too (maybe b/c I've only had a few drinks in my life)
cyakins aweee... all I can think is "thank God it's not me" All meanness aside, I'm glad he's coming home for R&R soon. Will it be time for another baby? |

We lived in Manhattan, KS for about 3 years prior to moving to Kansas City. Fort Riley was about 10 miles from Manhattan, so many Army families lived in Manhattan. We always knew when the soldiers where home, because number of pregnant ladies around town tripled! |
I hear every year that we set records for number of babies being born in a town. |
I hope everybody gets to spend time with their loved ones who are far away.
In just a couple of weeks, we are driving out to NC to meet up with our son, who is being discharged from the Army on June 12 (fingers crossed nothing comes up to delay that). He was in Afghanisan for 15 months. It's not the same as having a spouse there, but I hear you about just wanting a real hug, in person. He'll be coming back to MN with us, but we're spending some time on a beach first. |
I am going to be selfish and send Max and myself to London. |
I think I'd be in Alaska somewhere.
Maybe Barrow, maybe just near you southerners in Anchorage, or maybe even way down in Miami-like Haines. |
I've been to Alaska...lived there actually. Its a BEAUTIFUL land...
If I could be anywhere it would be with my family and best friends on a cruise ship together doing exciting ocean & land excursions in the Caribbean (or anywhere really). 2nd option would be on a massage table for an hour. |
On a beach-- anywhere that the waters are crystal clear and blue. With John. Max would be in the penthouse suite waiting for us with his dog sitter. The sitter would be a handsome Irishman who loves Max.
There are no cell phones, or communication from work OR family. I am wearing my new crocheted bikini-- and John is tan ALL over. The sky is cloud free, and a slight wind is blowing through our hair. We are drinking rum and cokes-- and our wait is a tall handsome Italian guy that is there for all of our beverage needs. <slaps face back to reality> |
Would John really be needed when you've got a tall italian waiter at your service? |
And a handsome Irishman as a dogsitter?? |
At the casino.
Winning BIG. Shellie |

I wish you came while we were still here! I could cook dinner and then post about it on here Plus, we have a million laffy taffy jokes my husband would love to entertain you with (on top of the refrigerator is a huge bowl of them). Your wife and I can go somewhere far far away while this takes place. |
I would be landing in Brussels with Tim, ready to find a wonderful Belgian beer We're leaving for Europe this weekend and I'm dreading the long flights to get there. Where's the transporter when you need it? |

I rememebr reading some sci fi book in college where you got on this people mover and mover through time from one point to another - wow wouldn't that be nice? |
Abi and I would be meeting Winston...my next sheepie. |
I'd be right here in Key West! However (isn't there always a however?) I'd have my dogs, my cat and kids with me. But, for right now...I'm happy as a pig in mud!!!! |

Humm.... you have given me something to ponder. |
Editing my post; I originally said something foreign involving food, and then I realised I'm the biggest jerk. I want to be here:
http://www.insideskywalkerranch.com/sky ... h-tour.htm We visited the Ranch this past Monday, and I wanted to never leave. The only think it was missing was my dogs, and an amazing cup of coffee to drink while I watch the sun rising over the meadows. What a remarkable retreat it is! |
I would be returning home to find that the elves had come cleaned straingthened and had not thrown away any of my treasures. |

You have plans that you haven't shared yet? |
If I could be anywhere I wanted right now, I would love to be somewhere in Yorkshire, England with my sheepies and my family. I love Yorkshire. Its sooooo beautiful there. |
