Atlast i did it...
I managed to put olivers picture up as my avatar.. Would you believe ive been trying this for a month now, 
Ron your directions on how to do it were really straight forward and easy to understand, I think the information was just not going into my brain

To be really honest Darcy, i dont really know how i did it
I think the wine took over, clouded my judgement, then hey presto!!! I know one problem, was on my laptop, after the right click, menu properties etc..... the instructions said "press CNTRL-C..... all i had to do was press ctrl - and then the same for CNTL-V all i had to do was press ctrl+ So after lots of wine and LOTS of failed attempts, "It worked" |

| my problem was I was clicking on the big pic Which does not work. If you only click on thumb nail( small pic )it works. |

| If once you've upload a pic and you are looking at the THUMBNAIL.... (the THUMBNAIL) (did I say the THUMBNAIL?) and you right click on THE THUMBNAIL to get the address and then you put the address of THE THUMBNAIL into your profile avatar control section where it says "Upload avatar from URL", it shouldn't be giving that error. |
| :?: Yep you said thumbnail...many times....I still don't even know what a thumbnail is. I click on a picture then I right click on the picture (heck I left click too) I see nothing that says thumbnail. |

| Are you copying the red URL that has [img][/img] tags around it? DON'T!
You need to get the address for the thumbnail by RIGHT-clicking on the thumbnail select "Properties" from the pop up menu, and copy the "Address:(URL)" in the pane that pops up. |
