Has anyone else had this problem? I'll try to get a picture if that would help. Bridget & Monty |

I would have your vet do cultures to make sure they are using the right antibiotics (gram positive vs gram negative) as sometimes broad spectrum just doesn't cut it.
They should also be able to determine exactly what kind of bacteria you are dealing with. I hope he heals up quickly |
I had Morgan's cyst removed before it burst. he was much happier after the surgery. I would do the same thing again. this would have been his third anesthisia (neutering and hip xrays being the first two) and he never seems to be adversely affected. |
I had the same thing with Kelsey, after treatment kept coming up and would explode, gross hole left after. The only way we got rid of it for good was surgery. |
The problem with a cyst is that all of the cyst must be removed or it will come back. Antibiotics don't prevent that. |
Thank you all so much. It sounds like he will need surgery and you are right it is a gross hole! Oh poor Monty.
I don't have the money right now, but am hoping to have funding set up by next month. Do you think it will be alright until then? It doesn't bother him unless I'm cleaning the area. Do you think it can wait a little bit? The vet already quoted $300-$500 but I'm sure it will be closer to $500. |
