Has anyone heard how Ron's dad, Ron and the family is doing? Deborah |
Thanks all!
Dad's doing ok, though it's been a little rougher than usual. He had post operative internal bleeding and they had to go back in and fix that. Thanks for all of your warm wishes! I told Dad about them, and he smiled. Of course the smile could have been from the anesthesia, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it |
That's great news! But we won't stop our good wishes until he's up and dancin' a jig! Deborah |
Hi Ron. My dad had at least 3 different surgeries over the last 10 years and every time had internal post-op bleeding that resulted in a second surgery to stop the bleeding. Every time things turned out o.k. I guess it's not an uncommon problem but you wish it didn't happen to your own dad! I'm sure he'll be fine--probably today the nurses will make him get up and walk around. Can Mulligan visit his grandpa in the hospital????? |
That's awesome!!
Continued support from our family to yours. |
Glad your dad is doing okay and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
~ VerveUp (Deb & Frank) |
Awesome! The difficult part is likely to be over soon and your dad will be resting at home in no time. (Insert mexican victory dance here) |
Ron and Joan,
We are so glad to hear that your Dad is doing better! We hope that the recovery process continues at lightening fast speed and he is doing that jig. LOL Our sheepies send lots of hugs and kisses to help also..LOL Thanks for the update Ron, keep up YOUR rest as well. Stormi and co. |
Great news, Ron! You'll have your Dad home by Christmas, I assume? What better present can there be?
Keeping everyone in our prayers! Chris |
Thanks everybody!
The warm wishes were well received and seemed to do the trick. There was a point at which they thought they were going to have to go back in for a third time. He was at the high end of bleeding volume, and then a lab number came back that put many doctors and nurses around the bed. Apparently this number comes back whacky once in a while, so they rechecked the lab result and the number came back in a better range. So he's been up into a chair and is eating, and Saturday evening was moved into a step-down care ward... certainly a great sign, especially to the insurance company. (Actually, that would be all of us who pay for Medicare I guess) At 79 you don't get up and do a jig, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks he'll be doing the shuffle from hospital to re-hab to home. Thanks again! -Ron. PS it's kinda funny watching the 5-foot nothing nurses working with my 6 foot 6 dad to get him in/out of bed and chair.... lol (Joan is not a short woman, and Mulligan is a 95 pound doggie) |
What a wonderful family picture! What a handsome boy Mulligan is! Ron, did you get your dad's height? The tallest person in CJ family is his father and him at 5'7 and the tallest in my family is my dad at 5'9, but I got my mom's side at 5'3. CJ's grandmother is an adorable 92 year young little Italian woman who is about 4'4. Can you believe the shock when Ashlan was born at 22 1/2 inches long. She is a tall girl and have no idea where she got it from.
Anyway, I just went WAY off topic....sorry. I am so glad to hear the good news about your dad getting better. I can't way to hear about him doing the shuffle back home! That is a great picture of him, Joan, and Mulligan. Stormi and co. |
I still look up to my Dad; I'm "only" about 6' 3". |
Your dad is HOT!
I really hope he and your family receive the strength ya'll need, so your father to perseveres and makes a full turn-around. ((hugs to the hot father)) |
Ron, I'm so glad to hear your father is out of the woods, as they say. A Merry Christmas, indeed!
As for heights, my family runs the gambit. I'm Italian, so I am short, as is the rest of my family. My dad was 5'4", my mom was 5'2", my brother is 5'8", my sister is 4'10" ( ) and I am currently 5'1" (and shrinking! ). Then I marry into a family of taller people (to me, any way). At 6', my father-in-law is the tallest. My husband is 5'10". My daughter takes after my side of the family and measures in at 5'2", a petite little thing. My son, God bless him, made it to the 6' mark. I come up to his chest and have to hug him around his waist! Says that whenever we have a family gathering (my side), he always leaves with a sore back from bending and hugging all the short Italians! He used to kid me once he got taller than me (by the time he was in 7th grade!!). I told him, and I tell him to this day when he calls me Shorty - You will ALWAYS look up to your mother! Just some idle chit-chat! Chris |
