http://canecorso.com/lorenzo.htm BTW, the grey mare across the street foaled 2 days early so she was still in the front paddock. Gave birth just 10 feet from the street. By the time anyone noticed it was too late to move her to the barn. Not the show I expected when I opened the drapes this a.m. Baby and Mom are doing well, vet stopped by later and gave Mom an IV. Neighborhood "mid-wife," and old truly broken down cowboy was there quickly to make sure every happed correctly, umbilical correctly cut and treated, afterbirth collected, etc. Blue ushers her baby to the far side when I try to get my mail from the box next to the fence. That's OK. She's protecting her little one. Baby was up within an hour and nursing about an hour after that. Baby is still a bit wobbly but curious about everything, already eyeing the feed buckets! |
