I Got An OES!!!
So I was on Craigs List Friday morning before work and saw a posting that someone was selling 3 female Old English Sheepdogs so I emailed her!!! It was a grandma 8yrs old, mom 3 yrs old and daughter 8 months old and I left work early and I picked the 8 month old!!! I guess her mom stepped on her back leg before she learned to walk and the fracture didn't heal right and the vet said she was to young to re-break the leg and re-set it so they left it. So she can't bend her back leg at all but she gets around on it just fine. We will take her to the vet and see what they say about her leg sometime this month. I took her to the groomers to get a bath and hair cut cause she really needed one due to she had ticks  I already miss her long hair but it's summber anyways and it will grow back. She was never named so we named her Baby. Seems like she has never been in a car either cause she is SCARED of cars and we have to carry her to my car LOL. She is SOOOOOO sweet and gentle and not to shy which is good. The Yorkies arent to sure of her but they are getting alone. Baby trys to play so much with them and it's just so funny to watch. Nugget likes to bite at her back legs, but then Nugget does that to Bradley too. Sassy growls a little and just trying to figure out what Baby is LOL. Bradley is ok with her and Kenya walks by her like she isn't even there. 2 of our cats (Stitch and Molly) have been hiding out but Mocha just walks around her like nothing. Baby was trying to play with Mocha this morning and was even trying to PICK Mocha up and carry her LOL!!!!!!! Not sure if she really knows what a toy is either but she is learning. She is house broken and hasn't had an accident yet which is good. We rescued her in our eyes.
I will have to post better pictures of her when I get home from work tonight! These pictures are from my phone and they are before and after her hair cute. I am soooo in love with her!! I digress ....your Baby is beautiful. Her hair will grow back and be tangle free. My yorkie loves her sheepie sister, but she has never known anything but sheepies. Our old sheepie was 2 when we got the yorkie. We shall need lots of photos. Well me anyway, I love the photo section. xx |
Cool! I'm glad that you got to rescue a sheepdog. We just added a rescue into our family and it has been fun. It seems really awful that 1) she didn't even have a name (glad she has one now!!!) and 2) that her leg got broken and healed badly. That whole story seems like an odd one  .
I saw a posting on craigslist too so I am assuming that this is the graybear lady that Baby was rescued from. Hopefully since they are getting rid of their dogs they will no longer be breeding them.  But that they are even getting rid of them....well that's annoying to me. The girl that I adopted recently was 7 and came in with an older boy. I mean who just decides that 'oh I'm tired of my old dogs so I will just get rid of them". Okay of my soapbox I'm very happy for you though!

| Thank you everyone! She is our big baby. I think my parents are going to end up stealing her from me and not letting her come with me when I get a house this summer lol. She is staying at my parents right now since I live in an apt but I am staying the week over there right now too so I can spend time with Baby and the Yorkies, plus I'm there every weekend. Baby loves to steal things around the house (Rugs, Plants, anything) so I got her more toys lol.
I am taking her to the vet in a few weeks once the IRS rebate comes back to have her leg checked out and to see if anything can be done or not. She gets around fine but kinda runs sideways and it does get in the way but it doesn't seem to bother her. So we will see what a vet says. Sue (KTB)- Your Yorkie is a cutie too! I will try to get a pic of Baby and the Yorkies together. They still are not sure of her tho. I will have to put Kenya next to Baby since Kenya is only 3 pounds LOL.
