Seasons.

Summer came into season 2 weeks and one day ago. In my yorkies they have always bled for 10 days and then stopped and gone through the rest of the process (wasn't that polite!) but Summer is still spotting not as bad and more watery but definitely heavier than I would have thought. She isnt at all bothered and is acting normally, just expects me and the yorkie to clean up after her I have googled seasons and they say they are all different.

Has anyone else experienced bleeding for this long please?

Yup, that and much longer. I think Mad's record is 3 1/2 weeks. Her daughters are also on the longer side. Belle's seasons were pretty brief at about two weeks or so, and her daughter, who happens to be in season right now, though on her way out, is closer to her mom.

Sounds pretty normal to me.

Have you tried having her wear panties and a feminine napkin to reduce clean-up? You can purchase the human kind - panties and pads - for docked dogs, but you need a doggie version of the pants for dogs with a tail.

Kristine
She has been good in the house we have sheets everywhere and she lays on them. Glad you have put my mind at rest over seasons, if only i can persuade hubby to have her neutered.
Let him clean up the mess!

Does he think y'all are going to breed her? Explain the $$ involved in getting all the pre-breeding tests: hips, eyes, hearing, pre-pregnancy blood tests. Then the stud fee, cost of shipping her to the stud and then the pregnancy tests, whelping expenses...........someone here want to come up with a ball park figure......???

Crumpet was out #1 spotter. The concrete in front of the door looked like animal butchery had taken place. Plus she was great for sitting on the steps.......gross.

Time frame......yeah about right.

Thousands of dollars before you even know if the bitch is pregnant

I have not even been game to add up all the expenses incurred in this last litter. 8O

But I can tell you thousands of dollars up to the point Brie was mated not including the costs of raising the litter and vet fees there, dew claw removal, puppies first lot a vacs and microchipping them all before they left the nest. High quality food after weaning etc etc etc the expenses are astrinomical and you never recover the costs when breeding a litter.

AND that is if it is a normal pregnancy/whelping and litter, gawd help the expenses if something goes wrong and a bitch needs a C-Section or puppies need hand rearing etc etc etc.

Brie is heavy in her discharge for the entire 21 days so nothing abnormal with Summers heat. There all different, Kelsey when she was entire you would not know she was in, so light the discharge and had to mark the calendar to remind me when she was due in next time.
Thanks I will stop worrying and just keep cleaning the floors....
