Head shaking after grooming

I did a quick search, but want to ask anyway. Ralph went in for his summer buzz cut yesterday (7 blade - very cute). Andy from NEOSR was his "hair" model. Since then he's been shaking his head a lot. I've been trying to clean out loose hair, but could it be something else? It seems like the air blowing around his head bothers him.

This is his first "buzz" cut with us. He feels so much better we can tell by how he's acting. Except the head shaking.

His ears may be a little tender after plucking.

Give it a day or so to calm down.
Wilby always shakes his head after his ears are plucked.
I can't do it as often on him since he has to be sedated but, I figured it was because, it felt so different.
I thought maybe they were more senstive without the
"Hair Cushions" :)
I don't think there is a technical term.
This is just what I guess, I am not sure!
SamSun got his "summer buzz" last Wednesday and he still continues to do the head shaking. This is not his first buzz cut but he usually does the head shaking for about a week and a half. He not only does the head shaking but also runs real fast through the house and gets up and down in the bed all night long. SamSun almost acts like he is more needy when he is shaved.

I actually took SamSun to the vet this morning because I was afraid that he may have had an ear infection. Saturday I looked in his ears and noticed a lot of wax buildup even though he had just got groomed this past Wednesday. I took him to a new groomer and thought maybe she had forgotten to clean his ears. I cleaned them with a warm wash cloth but the wax was back on Monday. Anyways...not to steal your thread...SamSun is okay! The doctor gave me some drops to put in his ears twice a day.
He could be getting a lot more "wind" tickling his ears too. It's a new sensation for him so he's thinking, "What the heck is that?" and shaking his head because it's weird.
Definitely rule out water and dirty ears though!!
I'll check the ears for sure. He also keeps looking back at his butt - I know that is wind on (not from  8O ) his behind.
Summer suffers from mucky ears. When i mentioned it to the vets she just said its the breed. So I clean them with baby wipes and when she is in the mood try to pluck them a bit!

Water was my first guess - when I wash Marley that happens a bit
Summer was laying on the floor, the dirt and hair you get out is yuck. I just showed it to my husband he said I dont want it, its his dog!
Thanks for these posts. Relieved my worry. I'll wait a few days and see if she stops before a vet visit.
Over the years, I have found the head shaking after removing the hair from the ears, they are either irritated or wax. If it's wax that I cannot get safely, I use either straight white vinegar or 3 parts white vinegar one part alcohol. Vinegar is a natural de-waxer and also has been used for swimmers ear. If just red and irritated and maybe itching, I use a product from the vet called neopredf powder. It is a anti itch dry antibiotic. It is a good all around wound powder and it is AWESOME for ear infections. And not gooey. Just a FYI. :)
