So I started thinking about recieving flowers and the nice feeling that comes with that, not knowing where on earth they would some from. I didn't tell anyone I was doing this, or even mention flowers at all. Just now I got a text from my neighbour to say she thought I had something delivered. Funny, I thought, I've not ordered anything. I go downstairs & there they were! A lovely bunch with a card saying "To Cassie, thank you so much for everything you have done for me & Billy the last few weeks" Billy is my neighbours Rough Collie, I've only cut his nails, bathed his wound when he got bitten & taken him to the vet yesterday- It's nothing really! It's great just to be able to help! So... I'm going to start working on that cheque |
|
no not yet build up to the cheque. Try something else smaller first...... |
what a great story. It reminds me of the book called "The power of positive thinking. You did deserve them. |
Congratulations!
Maybe I should read the book, because I've been trying very hard to attract some things into my life that have not come. Some of them are quite small, some are larger. I have been hopeful and positive. Is there are secret to The Secret? |
There is "The Law Of Attraction- the secret behind The Secret" by Esther and Jerry Hicks |
I am glad you got flowers but I think the whole "Secret" thing is a bunch of HOEY and Hookum.
We had a patient here who decided he didn't need his Dr anymore, he'd read the book and was going to think himself to health, he is dead now. I watched the Oprah show on the book and even started to read the book but I find it to simply be ballderdash. So hope all you want and enjoy your flowers but don't spend the money just yet |
Ginny, I'll agree that deciding to cure yourself is pushing it too far. But I think there is a lot to the power of thought. I read a study once that was done comparing lucky people to unlucky people, and the differentiator was mostly attitude. People who have a positive attitude and are focussed on their goals tend to have more "luck" - which is just another way of saying that the law of attraction works.
Bgirl, enjoy your flowers! |

I started to watch the "documentary" version of it, and thought it was such a crock. I do agree with the whole positive thinking thing, but not to the point of that. |
Oh no. Does this mean Santa is NOT coming? |
I absolutely believe in the power4 of positive thinking, I had a boss once who's favorite saying was "So you think so shall you be". The Secret goes WAY BEYOND that. I think it has gained a cult like following of people who want to "think their way" to riches. |
I agree that you cannot think yourself well (from some things) but I firmly believe that attitude does determine longevity and survival and even the time of death in many cases. I can think of 3 family members, including my own parents, who lived far longer than they were expected to live, with conditions most people don't survive with (or didn't at the time). I also knew when my parents decided it was time. And they passed very quickly after that. My grandmother as well. |

If he doesn't show up you can find him in Santa Claus, Indiana!!! I try to rely on my faith in God for our health and provisions, which takes a positive attitude, but............ I was reminded recently of a verse in the Bible that says you can have the "imaginations of your heart". While pondering that over in my mind I quickly came to the conclusion that, although I may think or feel that my faith is strong, my imagination sucks!!! |

I had the same experience with both of my parents. I do believe in positive thinking making a difference. |
That is so cool! I have a friend who always talks about "sussies". I didn't know what that was. Well, its when you receive a nice little gift you were never expecting. It could be a pack of gum, a bead bracelet, just something that lets you know someone appreciates you. She lives in Texas now, but when she was here, we would suprise each other with sussies. I miss that. Ron... Santa ain't NEVAH coming to your house, so settle down! |
