Hi, Welcome to the community!
I haven't heard much about them in our breed. Why do you think she has them? Please register! It's free and almost totally painless, and enables some neat features like reply notifications and ways to communicate privately with other members. |
Something is mentioned on the CERF website about OES and cataracts (congenital to age 6) - http://www.vmdb.org/feb02.html
But no none knows if this means anything to your dog except your vet when they examine her so it's best to make an appointment. It's just the lense that's affected? I've got absolutely no medical training... just wondering if you need to rule out an infection or inflammation... things that would need more urgent care. One of mine had clouding of the eye when she was around 5 months old... the hair around it stained due to the dye they had to apply. http://oesusa.com/KayteesEyeApril232006.jpg While she does have a cataract (she's got just one "good eye" with very limited vision), there was something else going on. We had her on dexamethasone drops (a steroid) for several months, then tapered her off. Let us know what the vet says? |
Yes it is listed in OES that Juvenile Cataracts can occur.
To have that confirmed you need to see a Vet Eye specialist. If it turns out to be that, then the breeder should be notified. |
