He's only 12 weeks old and I wouldn't have thought the leg mounting would start for a wee while, but I'm obviously wrong as that's been 3 times in the last day or so. We have always intended to have him castrated and our vet normally does this at 7 months or so to be sure he is fully developed and that it is done properly with minimal risk of problems, just didn't expect this to start for another couple of months! To all those with boys...when did yours start getting frisky (I never thought I'd be asking this !!!) |

Humping is not a sexual act. It is an act of dominance, I suggest if you can turn and walk away from him when he tries to hump. |
And....it's not only the BOYS!
Presley gets a little "fresh" every now and again - it doesn't seem dominance related with her - just overly "excited" and she can't seem to help herself. She is 5 years old and spayed! Someone told me I cursed myself with her name! With Harry - it's probably a little of sexual maturing and dominance (or excitement) - but firmly tell him "OFF" (Good thing his name isn't JACK! Sorry I couldn't resist! ) and give him another command or "job" and reward him. Kristen |
Both my girl pups have done this, although they haven't humped people, just each other...lol... establishing who is boss between the two of them I guess. |
After I found out some dogs have a thing for ARMS and not legs, I was thankful to have a girl who only liked legs.
It's kinda weird to see my sister-in-law's dog chasing her arm as she's trying to talk. |
