Have you tried an equal mix of household vinegar and water? I use this for my kitty's near box misses, and it works great. I beleive many other members use this too... It's also a lot cheaper than the off the shelf sprays. I do remember a post somewhere in here with a spray recommendation too... Just can't remember the name

I have found that Nature's Miracle used as directed will not only kill the smell that you can sense but also will eliminate the smell for your dog who may otherwise return to the scene of the crime and pee there again. You may have to use it more than once for older stains. Also be sure to get the entire stain, I apply it about twice the size of the spot I can see.
Vinegar solutions and ammonia solutions worked for my nose, but Henry's nose still told him that the spot were okay. |
I heard that a washing powder solution is best for carpets - just dilute normal clothes washing powder - Persil worked a treat - with hot water and clean...worked on my carpet, nice smell and Harry never went on that bit again (he picked a whole new spot for his next accident!!!) |
Nature's Miracle is what i have been using, but i have a rescue cat here who does not have the best litterbox habits (yuck) and i found using Mr. Clean orange scented spray, it is a disinfectant as well as a cleaner, works excellent, for one, it cleans it well, for two, it leaves an orange scent that both cats and dogs seem to hate. |
I used the washing powder solution. It worked well mitch never had any accidents in the same spot twice.
Think mine was surf though. |
I have used Natures miracle also and had good luck. Also i have sprinkled baking soda over the area after i soaked the mess up let it sit then vacum wet dry vac is awesome |
I have used Natures miracle and have had good results, however there have been more stubborn smells that I used vinergar and water for, and it worked very well. I have heard other people with cats use a product called Nok out, that they swear by.
Good luck! Stormi and co. |
I also used Nature's Miracle, as well as a mixture of half water and half alcohol. Both worked really well! |
