I just finished watching it and while the dogs were adorable they were Bearded Collies - very very cute and some of them looked so much like an OES in the face I was surprised -- Did anyone else see it?? |
|
I missed it....My first therapy dog, Millie was a beardie...they are so much like an OES...both herding breed..both clowns.. both stubborn, independent thinkers....and soo loving....I love both breeds!!!!! |
I saw it. I was hoping it was going to be sheepies too but the Beardies sure were cute!! |
We had a Beardie rescue for a short time.......but what a wonderful, wonderful dog. He instantly took to the rest of the herd and they to him, "Hey, this guy is FUN!" He didn't want to be boss, just wanted to play.
Sorry I missed the show!! |
We were supposed to be on it, but they couldn't find enough sheepies in the Los Angeles area in full coat. Duh! How many people do you know with sheepies in full coat who don't show them? They wanted 12. |
Wendy I wish you had been on it but you're right -- hard to find OES in full coat... Why do Beardies always have full coats?? |
The show was nothing like I expected. They made the contestants shear sheep first then brought out beardies to groom. These "groomers" took the dogs directly to the tub to bathe without brushing out first. Then a few of them got zinged for using slicker brushes to groom the dogs and leaving stained beards.
I got the impression that these "groomers" didn't have a clue about grooming a dog, sheep or anything else. If you didn't see the show, you didn't miss a thing. |

I was wondering about that myself. I thought maybe they really did brush them out and it was just edited out for the sake of time....didn't sound like it though. |
Glad we missed out then...it could have been really scary! |
Seriously, these "groomers" all looked like deer in the headlights of oncoming cars. Totally clueless.
They looked like they were going to die when they saw those beardies. Since the show emphasized that the dogs were matted, it seemed logical that they'd do a little brushing first but nope, they just tossed them in the tub. Some didn't get the dogs clean enough and/or didn't get all the shampoo rinsed out. It's scary that these people consider themselves groomers. It was disappointing that there wasn't a little educational content in the show and very little entertainment value. |
