A month or so ago I got a box of three large space bags and was mojorly impressed with them. I was putting some winter sweaters away and thought, WOW this is really slick. So I orderd the SUPER box of 10 in assorted sizes. They arrived yesterday in the mail and I could not wait to get home from the firehouse this morening to start "spring storing" Well, they SUCK. 3 of the 10 had holes in them from the get go, one got hole when I brushed it against the wall in the back of the closet. 6 did seal but only after MAJOR manipulation of the seals and I would not be at all surprised to open my closet someday soom and find a space bag explosion. I am so dissappointed, they looked so neat on TV and the first few did a great job on my sweaters. ANYONE else get "took"? |

I tried them before, not happy at all. I went to fabric one for al the blankets. It takes room but looks nicer. |
Aw, what a bummer. I have to admit, I've been so intrigued by them, too. |
Tried them and hated them. My clothes smelled like plastic after I took them out of the bags. |
That sucks.... I have always thought they were so cool. |
I had one that exploded....... |
I have them and I hate them too. The plastic they use is terrible. If they used a stronger plastic and a better seal...they might actually do what they are supposed to. Grrr! |
The plastic is REALLY chintzy The seals on the top don't hold and the slightest bump tears a hole.
WHAT A RIP OFF!!! Thankfully I got them on ebay and didn't pay full price!! |
Big Thumbs Down here too. |
Isn't there a customer guarantee on the box??? |
That is a bummer about the vacuum bags. If they worked the way they should, they looked like a great product. I hope you get all of your money refunded. |
Well, I might try to write the company a letter but I bought them on ebay so there isn't much else I can do. |
Hmm, I guess it depends on which company you get them from?
Ours are ok, the seals are not great but they never got holes or exploded |
I think that the first couple you get are always really good and from then on they all suck!! It's like crack, that first hit sucks you in and it's downhill from there!
The travel space bags have worked really well for me though. |
I've never tried the storage ones, but the travel ones work well for me. I packed for 10 days in a small carry-on using them. Me, the queen of overpacking. No one was more shocked than me. |
It's just an illusion Tammy. Your close are a lot smaller now! |
That's true, Mandy, but this was when I took Rolen to Italy summer before last and I was bigger. They had to have worked then or I never would've been able to pull it off. |
Should have just waited and bought a whole new Italian wardrobe while you were there and then shipped it back! Mmmmm Italian shoes! |
Isn't that the truth?? Considering the shoe kick I've been on lately, I'd have to build a new closet to hold them if I got back to Italy to shop for them. |
Hmmmm, interesting thought to use them for travel. What would you do if where you were going didn't have a vacuume to suck them up with and you couldn't get your clothes in your bag for the trip home
I may have to give the travel idea a try. |
I've wanted to buy space bags: now I'm not so sure! |
Don't waste your money, but if you do buy them on ebay. At least there you waste less money |
I didn't use a vacuum to suck the air out of them, Ginny, when I travelled. I just rolled them up tightly squeezing the air out as I did it. Of course, you MUST have an IRON when you get where you're going. |
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! |
I just sit on the suitcase to get it to close. |

Yup. It's a specific kind of Space Bag for Travel. Just roll or sit on to get the air out. They are quite awesome! |

I just use a bigger suitcase and make Doug carry it |

me too!! not sure what to think now as they were on my watchlist on ebay! |
hmm...thats really weird..because i have a super small closet and a bad shopping habit....so i use them too...ive never had anything but good luck with them....in fact, i just bought my second round of them...the first ones lasted 5 yrs.....
are you sure that youre not over packing them.....thats the key! |
No, that was the first thing I thougth of so I put less in them and they still don't hold a seal. |

yep! |
i just got mine at bed bath and beyond.....truely, i havent had a problem so far...dont jinx me |
The WORST!!!!!
Fortunately I bought mine i Bed Bath & Beyond & was able to take them back! |
these replies are really funny. I was wondering about the condition of the apparel when released from space format. I saw the bags at a warehouse closeout store and the material remeinded me of simple colored easter basket celophane. Then I watched a kid on google make a space bag out of a trash bag and his mothers vacuum. I have a new box of trash bags, I think I will try it. |

No one was more shocked than me. Space bags are Suck!!! Almost in every one is a hole or already hole in the socket it's self!! Plastic so weak and torn-up so easily! they so expensive and not serving purpose-just a head ache! Waist of money and disappointment! Do we have any alternative? I am ready to pay more but to get what I need! Irina, Sacramento |
