Quick breathing is normal. I think: He's a baby...babies sleep a lot!
He isn't displaying symptoms from something he caught today...if he's caught something it happened before today. But I would hold out introducing him to other dogs (unless you're positive about their vaccinations) until he's fully vaccinated. Does he have fever? Does his mouth/gums look moist? My bet is he's just tuckered plum out and busy growing - he needs his rest. You know the rules: PICTURES! |
He's a baby and babies need rest. Let him tell you when he's ready for Round Two.......don't be surprised if it's in the middle of the night. The little squirts tend to be nocturnal at first. |
Tonks and Luna are 6 months old and thier breathing still seems heavy and rapid to me... but its normal for them!
Tonk and Luna would nap, then play alot, then nap, then play... And always had to go out! in the begining, it seemed like every hour, on the hour! Your Beckett sounds completely normal! Congratulations on finally getting him home!!!! |
TeraluvsBeckett--
I remember when Heart arrived in St. Louis after her very long plane ride from Colorado..(about 12 hours)..there were glitches of course.. I finally got home at about 2:30 in the morning..she was soo tired from the ride, wouldn't eat, barely drank..I put her in her small aircrate, placed her on the coffee table, I laid on the couch eye level with her crate and basically "watched" her until the sun rose. I too was very paranoid and worried especially about the rapid breathing....and the fact that she slept very soundly...I kept trying to wake her up periodically to make sure she was OK...which she was of course... Sooo I've been were you are now...but I can tell you that you will have such an adventure raising this puppy..Have fun!! and keep us posted!!!! Val |
well all seems to be well thus far he's sooooo good!!!! no messes in the crate yet (overnight) and the one in the house was my fault for not staying outside long enough!! had a good sleep last night and a little nap this morning too!!! he's riding in the mini well - just naps almost instantly, but i am thus far doing my best to make sure he doesn't get board!!! he (of course) do stairs...SOMETIMES the 3 off the deck but i carry him the rest - when are his bones/hips good enough to go it alone?
oh! i have a ton of pics, tried to post a profile one last night through "edit profile" but it didn't work - also where do the others go - do i load them in the pics area? i'll try again now, but if i don't have a pic up soon know i need help!!! thanks all!!!! i'm soooooooo excited |
