hairspray some times works on fabric. I don't know about sheepies, or to what extent the puppers is stained. I wouldn't spray it on skin too much. |
somebody chewing pens??
Hair spray to saturate and blot. (as said, avoid the skin) After it has taken out all it can, switch over to rubbing alcohol, saturate and blot. Then end with shampoo and water. May have a uniquely marked pup for a bit.......... |
Nail polish remover soaked in and blotted out with paper towels works wonders on clothes, not sure about fur. |
Oster makes a great remover, but you're left with a large hole in the coat.
Sorry for your troubles. Good luck. |
Thank you both! It did almost cover up the red ink from the pen he ate last week! I WILL learn to hide those things better. Meantime, we are off to the bathroom. Just hoping to keep him from spreading the stain to all the furniture and upholstery at this point. |
I would just leave it there...Makes for an interesting conversation starter, and it will eventually wear off...I would think...! |
Poor Toby.... |
You have a point, Nicole. It does cover up that brown stain around his mouth (it's all pitch black now, think of a bad dye job) |
Now try some hydrogen peroxide maybe mixed with a dab of ammonia...it's what my mother used to bleach my hair years ago. If nothing else, he comes a beardless sheepdog. |
What??? No pictures??? |
Yeah, no pictures??.........red ink, probably thought she had killed something |
Update on the results -- I tried the rubbing alcohol, but he really hated the smell. (Ran away and rubbed all over everything trying to remove it like they do after a bath.) So I remembered that hydrogen peroxide removes blood from carpet (amazing things we learn as dog owners, eh?), so tried that and it did get a lot of it out. The shampoo actually took out a lot of it around his mouth, but he got a big glob of it on his right leg, so it's kinda gray now rather than the snow white it's supposed to be. But it goes along nicely with his "garter" where he was shaved for an IV when he had a viral infection several weeks ago.
And the carpet where the deed occurred is ruined. But he had already chewed up most of it and we are just waiting for him to "grow out of this!!!!" to replace it all. Methinks he is never growing out of it and we better think about hardwood or tile everywhere. Thanks again for all the great tips! |
He killed the pen! To remove the pen's blood from the carpet, cut the section out and find an inconspicuous spot......in the closet, under a cabinet....and cut a like size patch. Exchange the two and tape down with double sided tape. |
Thanks Sheepie, but the carpet in the room is already totally ruined. It's berber, and he loves to lie on it and pull strands just like he's unraveling a sweater. He's done it in every room he's allowed in, so that means new carpeting throughout! And no berber next time! |
Oh, no! I just HAD to see this thread........
Oscar used to do the same thing with berber carpeting in our basement, and any berber rugs around the house. He would innocently lay down with a kong, and next thing you know, he's ripping up strands of berber. Laurie and Oscar, the serial berber dismemberer |
Oh I hear that!!!! In a moment of insanity I allowed the carpet salesman to convince me berber was my answer for a long hallway in a home with big dogs. BALONEY Not in my house! Plus it is monotone show shoes every barf spot and cleaning attempt. I keep waiting for the multi color loop sculptured pile of the 70's to return in a nice dirt brown mix. It shows NOTHING. |

actually that does sound like fun......unzip the carpet! Kinda like popping the bubbles on bubble wrap. |
Ohhh, that's just what it sounds like, and I just cringe when I hear that rrrrriiiiiiiipppp! Even though it's ruined and he really can't make it any worse. |
Another pen terminator! Buffet says "hey brother"! Thank goodness the only rug he spends time on is a black pattern. |
