Whatcha doing this weekend?

I need more threads to read, so I thought I'd create one for you guys to entertain me with. What are your weekend plans?

For us.. house on market, so we have to continue to patch up things, clean, etc... but outside of church sunday, we're going to a friend's house tonight to play cards. That's all we really do. Play cards ...and of course eat a lot.
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
What kind of cards do you play? I've never really been into cards that much, but my husband and his family are. It gets boring to me.

No plans. Sleep in on Sat and Sunday, actually see my husband for once tomorrow, take Barns for a walk. Nothing too exciting. Maybe clean the house a bit.
I'm still working saturday and sunday all day and then I'm packing boxes every evening and early morning cause moving house on monday!

Next weekend I know what I'm doing aswell: Sunday: Grooming and bath Charlie for the Sheepie day!!! :D
I think it's called Canasta! My husband wasn't big into cards ...unless it was some drinking game in college  ...but he is into this one. The more people you have, the more fun! We really do it b/c we all have lots of kids, and these people don't drink ... so it's the only thing we can think of that's G rated for them. It's also a bday party but what's a grown up party w/o alcohol? :? ;)

BTW, hope you get all the cleaning done now... I bet you'll feel too miserable to do it in a few more weeks.

I HATE packing boxes!!! But how exciting to be moving. That I love!! Don't hurt your back too much moving!! Moving always means ordering pizza day for me :)
Weather is suppose to be rain so I think I will do some cooking. We have 3 new DVDS to watch. Just to get out is no longer a things for us, GAS,
it is turning around our lives.
Hopefully I will get to see my new grandson.
AND SUNGGLE
ECT!!!!
I am SO glad you started this thread!!!

Packing boxes stinks, I hate moving. It's real exciting, but boring. We are finally in our new house, it's so bare, so I guess I could go shopping this weekend, but it's going to be raining here too.

My niece was born yesterday, and boy is she a chunker! My twin sis is all of 5'4" and 115 pounds, and she had a 8 pound, 19 inch baby. (Class three tear-ouch!) I went and saw the baby yesterday, Kylie Claire, and she has double chins and rolls on her arms. Such a cutie!

J-you're moving to the East Coast? You mentioned KC, and I was getting my hopes up  .
CONGRATS ON THE NEW BABY FOR HER!!! That is a big baby! How exciting!!!

Someone just called to view the house so I've got to clean!!! Then find a place to drag 4 animals and 2 kids!
Great idea for a thread, Jo. Sounds like everyone is busy.

I've got to shave Maddie down tonight. So, I'm taking her over to the SO's house, so he can help me with her after he finishes shoeing the horses. I'm picking up take-out for dinner, but I'm not sure from where yet.

Tomorrow is house work, potential adopter is coming to meet Sophie at noon-thirty, then I'll be here in the office getting the auction stuff ready to ship out. I have no idea what we're doing tomorrow night. :?

Sunday, is church and then I'm bathing Maddie, Honey & Sassy. :phew: Anyone who wants to come help is welcome. :D If I still have any energy left after that and the weather cooperates, we may go horseback riding for awhile.
We here in oliver's house sadly  are working over the weekend..

Im thinking olie knows this as he is craving the attention, the nose on the laptop!! :D and the play with me pleeeeeese big brown cow eyes...
So hard to ignore my georgeous boy :D
Q:
Why do they stick the whole face into the water bowl?
then come and wipe it all over your lap?
Or just stand there creating massive puddle you have to get the mop to?
Well it is getting use to being an empty nester weekend for us, bathing clyde who is off on Monday, helping to pack up my eldest sons room as he is moving to Brisbane in Queensland for a year with work. And younger son is off on the ships after a 6 week stint at home, boy everyone is flying the coup. :(

Suppose it is something you have to get use too as the kids grow into adults, here I was saying if your not out by 30 the locks will be changed and your bags on the porch waiting LOL. Well all this has come about quickly, Troy is 24 and the opportunity for a management position in the company and running the branch up there was too good to pass by. Since he broke up with his girlfriend, no strings attached to be able to do this now and learn more and earn more.

I hate my babies growing up and leaving. :x
Speaking of eating............where's your latest creation?

Hmmm, let's see: tonight I'm going out, husband home. Tomorrow I'll dye my hair and Easter eggs (curiously both the same color.......LOL!) as the priest will do shut-in visits before Holy Week the following week. Think I have a meeting after church Sunday so won't get home until early afternoon..........sure hope the Masters is still on! Sorry, I do enjoy watching golf now that I can't play it any longer.

Just another exciting weekend!

I LOVE those sort of nights. Take-out usually means a nice evening of..... uh...... "snuggling."

I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT!! We always have a rag handy but it's so annoyong esp if she goes right back to the dish to drink!

lisa, that has to feel good though. To see your kids doing something productive. I think the rule of them being out by THIRTY is SO GENEROUS!!!!! I always hope *ALREADY* that my boys don't base what they want to do off some dang girl as I see it happen so much with the single soldiers that my husband gets. They're all so young and hearing their "stories" makes me want to knock them up side the head. I always go to his office and want to be mom! Seeing them leave though will be so tough. Beaureguard's Mom sent me a book awhile back and it makes me cry every time I see it (about kids growing up and one day leaving).

Note to self: GET CRATE FOR THE CATS this weekend!! They kept trying to sit on Joshee's head while I was driving. WHY HIS HEAD?!?!?!?? So there I am in my minivan trying to swat the cats off ...one who has only been in a car 1 other time and was scared to death. Thankfully once she found a nice spot on my jacket, she loved the car ride. The police at the front gate on post said he doesn't see people taking their cats for a car ride and called all his buddies over.

I've made a few new things but I've been sooooooooooooo busy getting the house ready that I haven't had time to post. Nothing special but I always think... might as well put that board to use!

YOU LIKE GOLF?!?! Something else in common!!! Mr. J and I live around golf on tv!! Husband is obsessed. Obsessed enough to "seriously" want to name our son Tiger. I wouldn't mind except for the fact ...actually calling him that and the torture he'd go through in school isn't worth it. Tiger's real first name ain't any better

I have to ask ...what color are you dying the easter eggs? :lmt:

That fits Todd and I to a T as well. They are big into any kind of poker - Texas Holdem' is the current favorite (I think).

I am working all weekend - 12 hr nights at the hospital Fri-Sat-Sun. So I will be doing nothing fun at all. But, seeing as we are getting nasty rain and snow here everyday, it means I won't have time to look out the window at it, or look at my muddy dogs, dirty floors, etc. :(

But, the next 2 weekends I have fun stuff (dog things of course!) to do, so I will buck up and get through this one.

Oh, and the best news is I should be at work right now, but I am home. I signed up for low need time off, and I got off from 7-11pm. They were 2 nurses over for what was needed. I have great seniority, so I got off.
Dawn by us its called 50 time. There is not a lot of that lately because the boss says we have to offer to the house and then you get floated somewhere you've never been and have no idea what is going on.

This weekend is going to be busy for us. Tomorrow they are coming to re-glaze the tub for the "third" time  at 10am and at 11am I take the dogs to the vet, Simon for bordatella(sp) and both boys are getting tested for heartworm. I'm excited to see how much weight Gar has gained. When he came to us he was 59lbs and his is taller then Simon. I upped Simon's food a little and I know he has gained a little too. On Sunday we are having a little sheepie get-together for a good cause. Its at the doggy daycare up the street and they are having a "Romp for Spring Bark" to benefit dog parks. Thats from 4pm to 7pm.

Sometime this weekend I have to go and fake bake for my trip to St. Thomas so that I don't burn to a crisp. Oh and lets not forget cleaning the house and doing laundry.

Why "50 time"?
We were 2 nurses over the requested staff for the whole hospital. Lucky me, as low needs get given by seniority - I am up there compared to lots of the evening shift workers.
So, maybe it was my area needing less than the number scheduled...or maybe someone got floated from an area that was overstaffed!

We have been really high patient census, and all the staff was getting fried. Never getting any days off, and getting calls to come in and work extra shifts. Ok for a short while, but tiring when it goes on and on. They recently hired a bunch of agency nurses. We are happy - we can actually get some days (or partial shifts for us 12 hrs) off. It does no good to have vacation time if you never get to use it!
Steve and wil be celebrating our birthdays, walking sheepies. Nipping over to Monika's Sunday evening and monday to help wiith moving. Hopefully making it fun I tend to start giggling when lifting things.
Happy birthday Jill & Steve! You're so kind to help Monika - wish I were closer but I'm there in thought!! Don't drop things in a giggling fit 8O

We are having a quiet weekend - Tony is going to a football match this afternoon and I am going to Sainsbury's to do the weekly shop. - (Will try to contain my excitement!)

Tomorrow if the weather is nice we will probably take Poppy for a nice run on the beach or to the woods at Sandringham.
Happy Birthday Steve/Jill! :bdcake:

To all who are moving to new homes...good luck and throw a lot of stuff out so you don't have to bring it with you! Jill if you get the giggles when moving packages avoid the glass or breakables.

I haven't really planned my weekend yet...hubby is working both days. Son is working also and daughter is visiting in Michigan so just the girls and me. Temps are supposed to hit 87F today and some rain tomorrow, so just might plant some flowers and go to church this afternoon...already ran errands, cleaned Shaggy Shuttle, weeded gardens and trimmed bushes yesterday. Oh, I did get a book from the library that has to be back in 7 days so probably will read through that.

For some reason my CooCoo Clock just started to Coo coo. It hasn't been wound in more then a year.....hmmmmm

Anyway, sorry about your over work Dawn...my Mom was a nurse and it seemed that she was always being called into work on her days off...so I think just the way the nursing job works.....nothing changes even after all of these years.

Mrs J have fun at the card game....

Tammy, horseback riding sounds like fun.

Everyone have a good weekend!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jill & Steve (you have birthdays at the same time?) I wish we could come over to help move too! I also get the giggles when lifting things, we had to wallpaper the ceiling last year & I nearly fell off the ladder from giggling so much. Running is just as bad, I don't know why, it's just so funny

We have 2 viewings this weekend so the house needs cleaning up boooooo. BUT.... we are approaching UK SHEEPIE DAY  so all is good :D

I have to ask ...what color are you dying the easter eggs?

Only a deep red. Traditional Orthodox color. Thankfully we aren't into those detailed eggs like the Russian Orthodox......phew! I'll use Rit dye....yeah, we've already had this conversation. First I'll warm the eggs to reduce cracking. I've purchased organic eggs from a neighbor hoping they'll have thicker shells.

As for hair, red too, but no Rit dye........too dark.

As perfect as you keep your house, I imagine your "fixing up" isn't too detailed.

Loved the cat for a ride story! Very unusual for a cat not to panic. As for sitting on the baby's head........perfect spot for looking out the windows!
