Our sheepie, Lucy, has gotten ahold of her fair share of Allie's toys and my husband and I have on occasion used this to our advantage. Allie is usually more motivated to pick up her toys when reminded that Lucy might think they are her toys if they are left laying around. The other night I heard my husband tell Allie to pick up some toys on the floor. Several minutes past and Allie had not made any attempt at cleaning up. I said, "Allie, you better pick up your toys before Lucy gets them". Allie turned without saying a word and started walking upstairs. I said, "Excuse me, where do you think you're going?". She gave me an innocent look and said "I'm going to get Lucy something of hers to chew on so she'll leave my toys alone". So much for the scare tactic!!! Allie did bring Lucy a bone back downstairs and Lucy happily chewed her bone and left the toys alone as predicted by the dog savvy 3 y/o. |

You should hear the excuses my 3 yr old daughter comes up. |
They do make you laugh my grand daughter will be 3 in August. she comes to our house and walks round like a little hamster to take things home for Mummy.... |
That's funny! They'll keep you on your toes, that's for sure. |
Funny!
We used the same line on our kids - and it worked! It does help that it was true. Having the dog actually chew up some toys is a great motivator. |
hehehehehehe, cute! |
