One of those grooming days

Me me!! I had a bad grooming day yesterday. My back still aches. I was ill all last week & unable to groom so decided to tackle him early in the afternoon instead of the usual hour before bed. Lucky I did- 2 hours in & I was only halfway  He was matted on both sides of his face, on his tummy and his ears. I felt terrible, but decided the mats would not get the better of me 
It was like wading through a fluffy cloud, really difficult to see anything & for some reason hard to make lines. I think his fur is SO soft and long in places I just feel like I'm drowning in it! BUT after a few breaks for tea & biscuits and a treat or two for Ru and FOUR hours of comb comb pull comb "STAY!" comb "STAAY!" pull comb comb I have more hairs on me than he does!!! and he looks beautifully fluffy and has NO MORE MATTS!!! Hooray! So.. my friend calls and asks if Ru is coming out to play. The snow has just thawed and it's muddy as hell... and I say yes  and we all get wet and muddy  |
Shon, we can predict the weather 4 weeks in advance. That's how often we have Bella groomed. We get her groomed it will rain or snow that day or within 24 hours. It's an even beter predicter of weather than washing my car.  |
Same here. Every time I take the wigglebums to the groomer, it rains.  |
| MY grooming story happened about 11 years ago...
Pearl had been with us for about 6 month--she was about 1 year old at time.. Dino and I took her for a full groom that we did ourselves at the self wash place near our house...... washing, conditioning, drying,conditioning,brushing, ears, toes, more brushing, finishing spray... I remember we arrived at about 9 AM and finished at about 3PM--- But she looked amazing...She looked so good in fact, we decided to go to Forest Park and show her off! We found an closed field so we let her off her lead so she could chase the birds and run off the energy of the grooming day. Well, in a blink of an eye, Pearl spied a squirrel and darted off up this hill---and then she disappeared..We both ran to see where she was and when we got to the top of the hill and looked down... There was Pearl in the middle of a swamp...up to her chest is mucky water....STUCK IN THE MUD FLOOR!!!! 
Pure white head....beautifully groomed from her shoulders up.... Dino had to go in and pull her out~~~~~ He was a little upset..(cough) and I just laughed.. (We waited for her to dry...took her home...washed her in the back yard (again!)...  |
