Maybe someone closer has an silly side and could handle this monster. |

I remember Diesel. He was available for adoption around the same time I adopted Clayden which was when I was actively search for dogs on petfinder. There are some Diesel's picture posted in another sheepdog forum on yahoo and the owners look very happy to adopt him in those pics. There were some posts regarding Diesel over that forum and I could tell from those posts that he is very sweet and get along with other dogs! He is a magnificent looking dog!!! His brother must be just the same!! |
With regard to Rob's post on Diesel's brother, to clarify,TOES (Tarheel OES Rescue) is working with this dog's owner to place Sully. Anyone interested in knowing more about him or may be a potential adopter, please contact us at plamm@triad.rr.com or by calling (336)768-3334.
If Sully is anything like Diesel, this will be one cool dog! Best, Belinda |
I hope someone takes him - I bet he has the biggest sweetest heart! |
Glad you clarified that, no, Diesel is very loved and not the one up for adoption. |
Anyone have a photo? |
I'd love a photo |
i think diesel lives down the street from me. he stopped by one day and had him in the car and the dogs can flying out glad there was a fence between us he was huge but so cute, i couldn't let derby play cause of his elbow surgery need to go and see if it is the same dog |
There are pixs of Diesel on the sheepdog group on Yahoo but I don't know how to transfer them............hmmmm. |
I have uploaded three pics I stole from another forum. I carefully picked out the pics that do not show the owners' face in respect of their privacy.
Here is a copy and paste from the Owner's post. You can tell how much of a sweet heart Diesel is. I am sure his brother will be just the same... "Thanks for the nice comments on Diesel. He is a real joy, not to mention handful, to live with. He has both the most incrediblly loud bark and the biggest, softest tounge I have ever seen in a Sheepie. I should have called him Shadow. Wherever I go in the house, he tags right along with me. He is laying beside my feet as I type this. Today he managed to get one of my wife's magazines out of the coffee table and tear it to shreds. He is a real traffic stopper wherever we go and when I tell people that he is just a puppy at 8 months old, they really look amazed. When I saw him on the t.o.e.s.(tarheel old english sheepdog rescue) website I did not rest until we drove from Florida and had him in our van. I feel really lucky to have him as I wanted a large male and he really overfills the bill. When I FILL his food dish, his monster head goes in the bowl and doesn't emerge until every last kibble is gone. He eats 3 cups in the morning and three cups at 7:00 pm of Iams lamb and rice kibbles. He then hovers over Panda, who also doesn't come up for air until her bowl of 1 1/2 cups at each meal, is gone. I was looking for a Newf-Sheepdog Mix like the one my wife saw at work when I stumbled over him. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to see what he grows into." |
thank you! but could you also download the pix of him "kissing" his mommy? I think that shows his size better than these. Afterall, he is 130 lbs or more now.
as one of the moderators of the other group, who's going to tell on you |
Busted !!!!!!!!! |
(shhhhhhhh, when I sign up folks on the other site, I also give a plug for OES.org. shhhhh, we don't want Ron getting a swelled head) |
I will upload the kissing pic in a bit. Somehow I couldn't find the upload file button again here when I clicked my photo...could it be the High Power punishing me for stealing pic |
Ack! He's so cute! Love the tongue. It's huge!! He looks like a wild man--a sweet one, but he's got the crazy eye! |

LOL - how can you even say that? - look at your dog's avatar!!! |
I have the photos I took of Diesel (actually, the ones you posted are some of them) from when I picked him up from his original owners. He is indeed a very sweet, loving fellow and quite handsome. He was as big as my Beaureguard and Diesel was only 8 months old at the time. His brother, who is called Sully, will be with TOES shortly and we'll have pics of him on the website as well. |
Can't speak of the dog needing a new home, but Diesel sure inherited the OES portion. Other than that broad chest and size.......when Gigi posts that other "borrowed" picture .......(BTW I emailed the picture owner asking him to post here.....we just beat him to it)........Diesel looks like on OES on steroids. Owner also has a real OES who is dwarfed by this beast. |
Thanks Tammy!! If there was anyway to get him here, he'd be on his way already, I hope you find him a home quickly. |
Prepare to ooooh and ahhhhh...here is another pic I stole
|
I LOVE this dog! I was trying to figure out how to steal him before he got adopted.... I can't wait to see pics of his brother! |

Well, it would be a tough task as it is not easy to find a bag or any sort of container that is big enough to stuff him in and walk off... |
OM GOSH! I love him too! Can't wait to see pics of Sully.
ps-did the name come from that Monster's movie (cartoon)...Monster's Ink maybe was the name? |
i am closer i might have to start driving now |
I'm sure I can come up with a business trip to the mid-atlantic area. I can't imagine how much his plane ticket home would cost if they charge by volume. |
is he in fla???? |
No, he's in South Carolina right now. We're picking him up on Saturday and he'll be in foster care in North Carolina until he's adopted. |
anxiously awaiting photos. My husband thought Diesel was the greatest and seriously considered submitting an adoption form for him. |
I hear you, husband says the same thing but getting him here is the trick. Of course we assume this pup will have the same temperment and intelligence as Diesel.
I think Rob needs to take Diesel on a cross country road trip. He has a big fan club. |
Well, I'll be sure to let you know how Sully's temperment is and then you guys can submit your applications. We'll work out transport. |
I love him!!! He has a foster so I cannot offer but I sure hope he finds a nice home |
Sully must be adopted by and OES.org regular............ |
Update:
Sully's family has decided to keep him. They realized they could not live without him. So, they are having a neighbor, who is a professional groomer, groom him. AND, they're having the yard fenced in so he will have a place to run. I believe they are also enrolling in obedience classes to help both them and Sully. All is well. |
Yeah! Did Sully's Dad post here a few days ago? |
Well, for his sake that's probably best but I was hoping he'd end up on your lawn....better size for a truck size dog. I hope they know if he doesn't get great care we are going to descend on them and harass them. |
