Wendy, I wanted a new name to go with his new life as his former name may have been said too many times with angry tones. We had a contest of sorts on the forum and Panda was the chosen name. I wanted a name that represented his Asian roots but showed his cuddly side..Panda was perfect! Still can't believe it was four years..wow! His former owner still keeps in contact and always ask about him. Her family came to visit Panda when they visited Canada and were thrilled when he appeared to recognize them. They knew him for the first year of his life. I know now that the owner was just overwhelmed at trying to find a placement for him as dog shelters are rare in Asia. The "breeder" was charging her 500 monthly to keep him in that horrible place as she had very little options. She continued to pay it while searching for someone that would take him. I'm also grateful to Roy and Elby the original posters as because of them - Panda did find his forever home. Here's a photo of Panda with his relatives..Grandma and Grandpa and aunts and uncles when they visited.
