Zach **************************************** The Humane Society of the United States STOP PUPPY MILLS **************************************** OPRAH WINFREY HIGHLIGHTS HORRORS OF PUPPY MILLS - TUNE IN TOMORROW Dear Roland, I invite you to watch an extraordinary hour of television tomorrow (Friday, April 4): "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is scheduled to air a special episode highlighting the cruel realities of puppy mills. Millions of "Oprah" show viewers will be shocked when they learn of the underhanded tactics and deplorable practices used to mass produce purebred puppies and designer dogs, as seen in an investigative report by Lisa Ling. Animal lovers nationwide will also see what impact these "factories" have on pet overpopulation. I'll be a guest on the show, sharing the expertise of The HSUS and our campaigns to stop puppy mills and end pet overpopulation. For a moment, I was most amused that you were getting e-mail from the Oprah Winfrey Show but then I realized it was from the HS. |
You found out, Oprah & I are tight lols. |
Hopefully this will open the eyes of people that buy dogs from pet shops etc. We that are involved in rescue know this story all too well. Zach tell Oprah hi for me |
again - this may not be a balanced presentation please watch with a criticle eye. HSUS is not exactly a friend of any breeders if I understand the issue correctly. |
I love Lisa Ling's reports....they're always very well researched and presented in a factual way. She's brilliant and really gutsy.
Oprah's influence is unparallelled and I think it's fantastic that she's taken this issue on! Way to go, Oprah!!!! |
Wow, that was horrible. Those poor animals. After that I'm thinking maybe a rescue is the way to go for me. |
If no one buys from pet stores and bad breeders them maybe this horrible practice will stop. Hopefully it has opened the eyes of people. There are plenty of dogs in rescue and shelters at this moment for a life time. Our politicians have to give animals rights too and not have them just property. There is a cattle farmer down the road He treats his cattle well they have lush fields and shelter. What happens on the way to the market is anyones guess but his animals are treated good before the fact. Wow I got off the subject of dogs .... |
I knew someone would post about this. I almost had to turn away from the horror I saw. I will never get aything other than a rescue. I am sure the good breeders will get upset. I've had 4 rescues and they were and are the best.
Only one pure breed I will never forget was FERGIE. I loved her so much. I am going to try to get more involved in rescue. Hope some of you join me. Hane a nice week end. |
They are reairing the show on Thursday, 5/29. |
oh great.......................... |
