Things we learn in spring

This is our first spring with Ralph. So, we're learning....

...he likes to stop and smell the crocuses. And then eat them! :? Silly dog, it is daisies you're not supposed to eat!

...about robins. They look like those squirrels (furry rodents, SQs) I like to chase, but they don't run away when they see me. What's up with that???? :lmt: And then they fly!!!!! What do I do moms????

It's OK Ralph. I wouldn't make a habit of eating crocus though.

Our very first OES, Maudie, was also into flowers. When we brought her home from her long trip from the UK, she immediately jumped from the car, ran straight to the tulips and starting munching. We thought she might be still a bit air sick. Nope, all her life she loved to eat tulips.
We have a camellia right by our front door that blooms big red flowers starting in March, and Toby loves to either pick them right off the branch or off the ground and sneak them in the house to chew on. And he stands at the front door and whines when the birds come to visit our fountain. Ahhhh, spring!
We relearn our love for mud in the spring.

:x

I keep a bucket by the door, fill it up with warm water, and dip 12 legs, one at a time with a couple of water changes in between.....THEN towel dry as much as possible, oh....four or five times a day.

We've only had a couple of rains so far - it's only just begun.
So who's going to invent disposable panty hose for dogs? Put them on the hairy beasts before they go outside and remove and dispose?
The deer are out in force. Whenever Phoebe sees any of them from the window she goes into loud barking and jumping on the window mode. We have a low bay window in the front where she likes to sit and watch for wildlife and passers-by. I really do need to wash the streaky front windows.
Oh the windows! Most of ours go all the way to the floor, and our front door is a French door, so they have a bird's eye (or is that dog's eye?!) view of EVERYTHING that passes by. I have a Magic Cloth, which is a superfine microfiber cloth, that does a pretty good job. But I am constantly wiping dog slobber from both sides of the windows!
