I met Fitzwilliam today!

I was volunteering my time today for a booth (Small Animal Rescue) at a huge PetFair held outside the city.

Finally getting a much deserved break I walked around to visit the other exhibitors. What did I see??????? A sheepie!!!!

Walked over and spoke to the woman who had the lovely name of Mary Ann (couldn't expect better with someone with that name) who owned a sheepie.

Turns out it's new member who joined last month with Fitzwilliam. Oh what a cutie he was and SOOOOOO well behaved! I was most impressed.

Five months old and listens to his mom well. Sigh I miss seeing a small sheepie. She met my fellow volunteers who were all equally impressed at his calm demenor as they have all met Monster Merlin.

Mary Ann if you see this - nice meeting you and Fitzwilliam today!

Very exciting! 8)
Hey Marianne! (most awesome name, btw)

It was so cool meeting you today - a very nice surprise! I figured the Petfair would be a good opportunity to socialize Fitzwilliam (and oh man was I right, eh? I've never seen so many dogs - and a couple of wolves, did you see? - getting along so well under one roof). It was such a bonus meeting a fellow sheepie owner!

I'm glad you were impressed by Fitzwilliam's calm demenor - he really can be such a good boy, he impresses me too sometimes. On the other hand ... he is a Sheepie ... and a puppy. "Calm" doesn't always accurately describe him, lol!

Thank you for reassuring me that the shape of Fitzwilliam's head isn't abnormally pointy. Am I over-reacting, though, to think that if he headbutted me at full speed he could quite easily spear me with that conehead of his? Is there, in fact, such a thing as a rhinosheepie? :)

Seriously though - I'm really glad we met today - especially since Sheepie owners are so VERY rare around here ... and glad you liked my Fitzwilliam!
Marianne this is totally karma. You lost Lynda and Willoughby (the only Sheepie from the forum that lived near you) In return you got Mary Ann and Fitzwilliam. 8)

Mary Ann, watch out for those Sheepie heads!! 8O My girl Rags is a headbutter. She bulldozes us with her head when she wants attention. 8O  I have been hit in the face more than once while she was being affectionate.
Hi Mary-Ann your puppy Fitzwilliam is cute and such a well behaved sheepie, how do you do it ?. As Elissa points out watch out for the sheepie heads I have just had a meniscus Op caused by a sheepie head butt. Oh bye the way he looks perfectly normal in the photo.
Great news....two Mariannes (Mary Anne) in BC!!! Like Elissa said "Karma". I bet Fritzwilliam (love the name) is so adorable. There is nothing like a sheepie puppy.
Smal l world!! What fun!
Hi,

Yuppers Karma must have been at play!

Mary-Ann I missed seeing the wolves at the Pet Fair as I was busy blowing up balloon animals for the kiddies. (You missed me flexing my huge arm muscles using the balloon pump!) They are big sellers and I was donating the proceeds to Small Animal Rescue, one of the three rescues I'm involved with.

When I dashed out momentarily I only hit the booths that offered free samples as did my co-workers..oh bad me. We scored a box full and then most of the dogfood/cat food places offered to give us the remainder when the Fair Closes on Sunday. Yeah!! I currently am taking care of aprox 30 animals under my roof. An assortment of dogs, cats, bunnies, Guinea Pigs and even two little white mice (Ginny is jealous).

Not a collector by any means, as they are all spayed, neutered, vetted and many are fosters for various shelters. Anyhow going off topic but it's pretty funny as I said I'm going to have a look around the rest of the booths finally and when I hit the first one , "I saw Fitzwilliam and got totally distracted". So anyhow I never did see what else there was at the Pet Fair. LOL!

Marianne

Ah who could blame me!
yey! now we have to "Mare's" here!!! and i dont care, cause i think it is a sweet nickname!!

Im happy that you have a new sheepie person and companion!!

when am i gonna get a second darcy?
You Darcy only rate a sheepdog named after you.........

As for rhino-heads....yeah, some keep their dangerous points, but most smooth out. Varies with the dogs. Fox and Shane kept theirs, ouch. Fortunately with all the hair, it is not noticeable, just painful if they catch you just right.
I'm sooo jealous  Fitzwilliam is so handsome. Sydney is only 9 months old but I miss the puppy (size) stage.
