SNIFF SNIFF Babies are off

Sniff Sniff, misty eyed here tomorrow two of Bries Babies leave the nest at 8 weeks old off on a plane interstate. Gawd this is the worst part, saying goodbye to my darlings. :(

Giselle is off on her flight to Tasmania tomorrow afternoon, sassy big girl and full of spunk and sheepie kisses. I am really going to miss her, she keeps the boys under her Paw. 8)

And tiger who will now be known as Boris is off too on a plane to Adelaide tomorrow afternoon as well, such a gentle soul and a real gentleman. A real cuddle bug.

Image

Then on Friday Kal, now Harry, is being picked up from my house for his car ride back to the countryside here in Victoria. He is such a fun guy and just wonderfull I can keep seeing him on a regular basis.

Image

Then on Saturday Lennie now Nelson is off to my friends and close by too.

Leaves me 4 at home till two of the boys go overseas, this is so hard, sorry had to vent as feeling sad and teary as these babies leave for there new furever homes.

Worst part of breeding is you put so much into it then having to say goodbye to the babies. You always wish you can keep them all but not possible only good factor is they are going to fantastic homes.

Box of tissues are ready for tomorrow as these babies start there new life adventures.

SNIFF SNIFF

Awwwww. :(

You get to keep two! That's huge! Focus on that. :D
You did good Lisa...all great homes and beautiful pups!!!
Awwwwwww.... :(

I understand. Give them a big hug... nearly squeeze the breath out of them for me! OK< not THAT hard, but give them an extra cuddle and take an extra little sniff of their fur for me.
awww, hopefully you get updates on these cuties that you can share with us too  give them a squeeze for me!
OMG how can you let those sweetie leave :D they are all so beautiful
Wow, 8 weeks already! Seems like it flew by.
Goodbye babies!!!  :ghug:

Here is a hug for you, Lisa. :ghug:
You are so lucky to be keeping two. And we are so lucky to be able to watch them grow up. 8) Thanks for sharing Brie's babies with us.
Lisa: I am sorry that the eight weeks have flown by so quickly. You are going to miss those bundles of fur and puppies smells. Each one is so precious in his/her own way. Now you will sit back with pride as you watch a few go into the "show" ring...knowing you and Brie gave them the best start. The happieness that all of your pups will bring their new families will be multiplied many times. Hugs to you as you wave goodbye...but they will be in touch. Please give Brie a hug also...and enjoy the two staying behind. I will be looking forward to hearing about them as they grow.
oh bless, I could never breed my doggies I would have to keep all the pups. I am crying for you now but dont take no notice of me I can cry for England this week....hugs to you and your family xx
Those 8 weeks really do go by far too quickly and it's so hard to let them go, but it sounds like they have fantastic new families :)
I can't wait to see pics of the two you are keeping as they grow.
I just don't know HOW you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It must be incredibly difficulty.(((HUGS)))
Aw! It will be nice though for you to at least two of the pups on a regular basis.

I just love Lennie/Nelson's big black nose :D
This is the hardest part, for sure. I know it would break my heart to have to let them to. Knowing they're getting fantastic homes is the only way to get through it. You did good, Lisa.
Thats the bit I couldn't do, but they are such gorgeous puppies I am sure they are going to make alot of people very happy!!!
Aweeeee... I can't imagine how sad you feel right now b/c they are toooooooooo cute combined to all the time spent with them. Hugs to you and the puppies who are now leaving to bring joy to other families!!
Ohhhhh - it will be hard for you! Give them lots of kisses and console yourself with mamma and the other pups afterwards . . . and lots of pics from the pups going further away. :ghug:
AWWWWWWWWWW Hugs to you and them beautiful babies, Brie too :ghug: :hearts:
Just think what love and happiness they will bring to their new families and everyone who meets them. :ghug: Here's a hug for you!
I'm gonna miss them too. :(

You still have Mini Clyde, right?
Okay-so I am just wondering...

How do the Mommies react when their babies are gone off to their "furever" homes? With all of the dogs that we have had, we have never had any give birth. (I always knew if we did-I would end up keeping all of them :twitch: ).

So, how do you think that Momma Brie will react?

(Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I have just always wondered!)
Aw, Lisa, my heart goes out to you! It would break my heart, too, but knowing what fantastic homes they are going to should be a consolation. :D Plus, you get to see two of them regularly, as well as keeping your own two. Extra hugs to all who's left from me and Drez, please!! :ghug:
Poor Lisa and Brie.....

I am sure that is the way Ali felt when she put Heart :hearts: on the plane to be with me...

from THIS side of it....I just want to say THANK YOU!!!

To ALL the breeders who take such loving care
of the furinfants...

nurturing them......................

conditioning them to be touched in all the nooks and crannies, so when they do arrive at their furever home there will be no fear of ear cleaning, nail clipping, brushing...brushing...brushing...

loving, cuddling each and every one of them- many times a day....I can imagine how hard that is when you have so many....(but you do it)-so they really know what it is to be cherished..............

giving them the room to explore their world...even if it means you have to spend an hour cleaning up after they shred a whole newspaper.

begin to train them to go OUT to potty like mom...again not an easy task with 6 or 8 of them..cuz then you have to get them IN!!!!!

teaching them (along with their mom) that they are special and should have an attitude ...cuz they are all so gorgeous.....

allowing them to be clowns and play until they pass out..even when the barking, yapping, jumping and running around (makes you wonder...why you did this????) .because, you know, without that important playtime they wouldn't be so joyful.....

for putting that twinkle in their eyes...for they know even though they are going away from you..they are going toward a wonderful. lovefilled life because of you carefully picking just the right furever home for each and every one of them......

AND.........................
Many, many more things you breeders do --to ensure that when they DO leave you...they leave ready to take on the world------

THANK YOU ALL!!!!
:ghug: To Lisa, Brie and the two new members of the family!
Pretty sure I could never stand letting them go, at least not until I went bankrupt trying to feed all of them and keep them vetted.

I remember going to pick out a puppy once and there was one we all fell in love with. Trouble was, the breeder's* daughter (about 11 or 12 years old--very tender age with a heart ready to love and break so easily) was sooo in love with that pup, we wouldn't even consider it. My husband said he wouldn't be the one to break that little girl's heart. We are thrilled with our Archie, as it turns out and wouldn't have traded him for another pup in the world. Funny how it works out that way.

* byb breeder. I was looking for a pet only, not for show or to breed, so I was only concerned about temperment and good health, not knowing of the pitfalls of the breed, which hadn't come up with our first OES nor in my reading. This place didn't exist. This woman meant well, but really meant to make money. She hadn't a clue about even the most basic stuff about OES.
Thanks everyone, two of the darlings are now off ready to fly away. Can't stop the tears flowing at the moment, the look on their little faces just breaks you up, bewilderment and what's happening mom. :(

Another two to get through and by Sunday down to four, our two and Brian and Clyde, the two boys flying overseas will be here for another 3 weeks at least I will still have 4 to fuss over after the weekend.

Brie was put away while two of her bubbas left this morning, she went in after and fed the 6 still here so she seems OK at the moment, think it is worse for me.

Thanks for letting me vent and get teary you guys are the best for support and understanding.
Hey Lisa, I can remember if I asked and/or you answered-- are they keeping the name Clyde? I mean, I don't know how they couldn't but you know how people can be.
Oh, Lisa, you are making me cry! I don't know how can you be so strong to let them go and even though you get to keep two I just don't know how you do it. I don't know if I could ever let them go.

You and Brie did an amazing job! :ghug: :hearts:

THEY SURE ARE JILL :D :D , Clyde they loved the name and it really suits him. So Big clyde has a namesake in Mini Clyde all the way across the other side of the world.

Will be able to post photos of him as he blooms and grows in Kiwi Land.
That's awesome! Oooh, maybe they can become pen pals and big Clyde can give mini Clyde advice on life-- you know, like favorite snacks, places to sleep and they could fight about whose mom is the best!
Oh Lisa, that is so hard. :( Just shower all your love on the ones that are left. Hugs from me and Harry.

I think I know which Clyde wins that fight - oh you weren't asking me? :sidestep:

for someone who never wanted to be a mom...youre sure acting like a goofy proud mom.....and dont give me the "its a dog, not a kid' thing either!!

busted!
I like being Clyde's mom. No kid would ever be as awesome as Clyde.

Lisa - I've long wondered if OES bitches can count after puppies hit a certain age -- or if they even care to

Belle only had two and they were both staying. Her breeder doesn't wean puppies, she leaves that up to the bitch. Well, they were 16 weeks old and counting when I took matters into my own hands. Belle still hasn't completely cut the apron strings and has been known to try to clean her seven year old daughter's bum 8O

Mad's two first puppies to leave went to pet homes back east at ten weeks old. A good friend of mine who had helped friends of hers acquire the bitch drove them both back as we didn't want to fly them. I admit I felt a little sad when they left, but I really think Mom was ready for them to start leaving the nest AND LEAVE HER AGILITY EQUIPMENT ALONE. My friend called me from the road the next day because she knew I was anxious and to report that she had left the motel at 3 in the morning before the little trolls, eh, I mean darlings got her kicked out for barking in their crates. She had tried to deal with that by letting them out and diapering them, but she said they played unmercifully all night long, culminating in Suzy relieving Mozart of his diaper and Mozart relieving himself on my friend as she slept. Or tried to.

You'll be surprised (or maybe not) how these guys will leave you without looking back, but you'll also enjoy the funny stories and updates you get on them once they're gone. Hang in there :ghug:

Kristine & Mad (whom I think still some times wonders why some of her "puppies" are still here. That wasn't part of the deal, was it....? Belle, she ain't.  )
That reminds me of Clay ...
He was back at breeder's and surrounded by Mad and said puppies. Clay is truly a "little old man", and not impressed.
In the meanwhile, we got Chewie in August, and he moved with us to MN. In March, LeAnne and Keith bought their house and drove over to pick up Clay and bring him home.
The look on Clay's face when Chewie came up and puppy-mauled him like "oh, my long lost relative!!" was just priceless!!!
Poor Clay, he looked like "are those dang puppies everywhere??"

See....that's how I feel about Beau. I don't think anyone could ever love me as much as he does. It's great being his Mom. :hearts:

Dawn, that story is hilarious. Poor Clay. He's surrounded.
Well Kal who will be known as Harry has just left the nest with his new mom and dad a few minutes ago :(

And now we are five till tommorrow when lennie aka Nelson to be has his new mom and dad collect him.

The boy that went to adelaide yesterday the plane was delayed for 2 hours so I was one anxious ex mom as to how he ended up at the other end when his new mom and dad collected him. ALL was OK, no accidents in the crate, he went home and ate his din dins then his new mom slept next to him the whole night and he got up this morning and gulped down his breaky. She said what a well behaved sweetheart he is and a huge cuddlebug but she has to now watch her shoes, he loves shoes to munch on

Tasmania girl giselle landed ok too and is settling in well with her new family and she ate and slept well too. Thank goodness these babies are settling in well for their new families, they are even half way there with the potty training before they left the nest.

Tomoorow another to get through Sniff Sniff. :(
Hang in there Lisa!

It's so hard to see the babies fly the coop...or leave the nest, or root somewhere else...whatever the expression!! We're here for you and can only just imagine how hard it must be to say goodbye to those adorable furkids.

Marianne
Lisa, they are beautiful pups! yes, them leaving is sad but think how much less work too! lol.

I am usually ready for them to go by 8 weeks.... I love them all but I think God made 8 week old puppies for a good reason...... to go to their new homes! Then your work is just beginning with the 2 your keeping... oh my this last 9 months here have been busy and if Checkers ever gets brains between his 2 ears it is going to be a miracle! Delila's breeder used to say she bred for beauty not brains........ well Dee had brains and beauty but Checker's i think just has the beauty....... lol. Calypso has both but i think she got Checker's brains too..........

give em hugs, then go have a nice drink and know you've done a great job!
