big computer boo boo
it says on the main display page... WARNING: SPYWARE THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED ON YOUR PC.. BLA BLA BLA ...GO TO DOWN LOAD.... then you click on it and it is a download of pc antispyware and pc cleaner... i used my norton and it says that my pc is clean..but i cant get this crap off and it is denying access to the internet....(im on ciscos pc)..... what do i do besides call a professional???? |

go to www.Lavasoft.com and download the free Ad-aware 2007 free edition program. Then run a full scan. Here is the direct link for the download http://www.lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php You will want the one of the left. If you downloaded something from a pop up that said that you have spyware, you most likely downloaded spyware. Never download from a pop up!!! |
| Just an FYI - we got that a couple months ago from
some site my son went to. The popups mimicked microsoft - to the point we almost didn't catch it. It looked exactly like the ms protection software but one word was off and didn't quite fit. I halted everything and went straight to all my anti spy and anti virus. As it turned out that popup opened up a door for a virus that let other junk in and immediately deleted itself. I ran all the programs I have and all the ones I could find online to fix it. Once the original file deletes itself it is almost imposible to get rid of. We ended up wiping the drives and going from backups that were a couple months old! We did end up losing a bunch of stuff. I hope that isn't what you got!! It was such a huge pain in the butt. | My husband has spent days cleaning up my friend's pc's when they get "hijacked " like that. My mother also had that problem. It is getting harder and harder to get rid of these things. |
i got trojaned.....  computer guy has been here all morning..he had to take my pc to reformate the whole thing....stupid computer or should i say stupid me?! |
| No...stupid people who have nothing better to do than spend their time trying to cheat people out of their money. It's all a scam to sell their software...more of these hackers should be arrested for their crimes. The internet is a big hairy monster!!!! |
