Whiskers

Maybe a silly novice question here...but what do you do with the whiskers when trimming the muzzle hair? Do the whiskers just get snipped with the hair?

Cut them off. It's not like a cat where they use them for distance. You will notice that they seem to grow faster than the rest of the hair.
I try to go right down to the very bottom of the whiskers to snip them off.
Okee dokee. Thanks!
Is docking whiskers OK?
lol. :D
Actually, when I used to show malamutes, there were a few breeders who thought it was extremely cruel to cut the whiskers, and refused to cut them off even though they should be in the ring.
I find it near impossible to avoid cutting them while trimming the face. I attempted to do this once when trimming my maltese, and it was quite a task!

Yes, and they're not the only working/sporting dog breeders who feel that way.

I've never noticed any functional difference in an OES - trimmed or not. Now eyelashes I've been known to work around...a little.

And, yeah, it looks as stupid as it sounds... But Liz does so love batting hers.
