Garfunkel: Gray, black, and after a bath, some white. Kept in a puppy cut, hair is more course. Will be three..since he is rescue and not sure of Birth date we will celebrate the same as Simon's. The hair on Simon's snout is not as profuse as Garfunkel's and I'm wondering why. He needs lotion on his snout in the summer or he will get burnt. I know Gar's coat is more the standard for the breed and someone once told me what kind of coat Simon has..does cotton candy sound right? I can't remember. |

I don't think the two year old will have his full adult coat until he is 3...Then you can be sure of what it is. I have a 10 month old male (Nigel)with a transitional coat. I also have a 3 1/2 year old female (Bella) with a thick, wavy coat which is normal for an English or European bred dog. |
Simon's coat is very similar to Fozzie's coat (2 yrs). We'll compare in just a few short months |
Wendy, when i took Bella to a show, i remember having the judge tell me i put too much 'sstuff' in her coat. I told that judge to take a sample and have it analyzed as there wasn't one THING in that coat! That is the difference in European coats and most US coat's.... we have more of an imphasis on quantity it seems........ bigger is better???? I was fortunate to have 2 other exhibitors in the ring wsith us at the time who told the judge they knew i had nothing in that coat except water spray to 'fluff' it up.
So much different than my other dogs coats.......... |
Yes...I was told by Bouvier owners that it felt like a Bouvier coat. It's very different. It's cool to have both types so you can compare...and she feels so soft when it is clean and dried. |
