Wasn't it on this group that someone mentioned http://www.flybaby.com?
It's a gentle prodding, day by day, to get your house in order. |
I'll come over and help. If you have not touch it in 2 years get ride of it. You will not miss it. I love getting rid of stuff. My daughter and hub are pack rats and it drives me crazy. |
I did see a suggestion somewhere for taking photos of the things that one feels sentimental about. Then get rid of the items.
I am going to try that. Whenever I attempt to work on the stuff, I become overwhelmed & walk away. |

Its Flylady http://www.flylady.net/ I would not have had a clutter problem if I had started with flybaby at birth Still reforming and doing well. the Big Sister program and other charities are wonderful at stopping by and taking your gently used items. Just go slow and devote some time each day to a small section, and you will meet your goals! |
Thx, My stuff is not messy.
It is mostly organized & labeled. I need to part with a lot boxes or downsize them. Also, need to get rid of displayed collections & wall hangings. |
Guilty pack-rat here with no signs of changing soon. Collects all kinds of stuff and unwilling to part with any of it.
Those organizational-types would have a heart attack in my house! |
I'm so quilty! Not only am I a pack rat but I collect dust bunnies!

Are they the gray bunnies or are they the white ones, I have both. I am a pack rat, a horder, a collector of intresting and strange things. I am often making amazing discoveries right in my own home. |

2 yrs is too long...if you havent worn or used it in one whole season, get rid of it.....do NOT hang onto it ''just in case''..... im the queen of purging........ you can do it!!!!!!! ...but I DON'T WANT to do it!!!:evil::evil: It's an inherited gene from my father's side of the family, I suppose. My in-law's home was so spartan it made me feel sad for them. They could easily afford those "things", they just didn't like clutter of any kind. Quite the opposite in my family's home. So many things have ridiculously sentimental value. I am actually trying to get rid of some stuff but having to do it slowly... "I may need that one day!" |

Oh, I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I love tossing things out. Makes me feel sooooooooooo clean. Better than any shower I can take to feel good!! I have to wait until Mr. J is in the field b/c he will swear up and down he plans to use something or "might one day" ...but I know the truth, so I set it free ...or at least to the dumpster. Never even remembers he has it! |
Billy's Uncle is a horrible pack rat. To the point that the house he lives in has a very small pathway to walk thru. If the fire marshall saw that house he'd probably be in BIG trouble.
I feel terrible for his brother (Billy's other Uncle) whom he shares the house with. There is nothing he can do to stop his brother and he has to live in this pig sty. Uncle claims all of this stuff is worth something. He even wants to get a computer to get online and start selling. Personally, I think it's all trash and should go in a dumpster. |
