( British....knew the breed ) I was very pleased with the senior vet for well over 17 years now but WOW, someone that is very familar with the breed. She did a wonderful exam, and addressed all of my questions. When we got to the licking of the fore-legs, now both of them, over the joint, she found that it was arthritis. ( Last year he only licked the left, since it happpened again this year, only both joints, I assumed it was again allergy related ). We are now on Glyco.Flex II Stage II. Has anyone had a similar diagnosis at this age??? Has anyone used this RX ??? Kathy |

Hi Kathy,
Panda, at age 3 and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and I've had good result with glucosamine. He's doing well on the glucosamine and it's going on 4 years or perhaps it's five, since he arrived at my home and is now nearing 7 or 8 years old . Yikes I'm so tired this evening - can't think straight. I also give him a lot of fish in his diet as this seems to help and I've heard green muscles (available at the supermarket) is supposedly good for joints. I just wanted to send positive thoughts Chauncey's way. It's great you have a vet that is familiar with the breed! Marianne |
