permission has been given to cross-post widely - this is from a couple in Pensacola, FLA (photos are obviously not attached - he looks like a PON or OES -his body is charcoal, legs are lighter and head looks like a mature OES or PON) Hi Guys! I'm sending a few photos I took of this darling boy we rescued yesterday, in hopes, you can pass the word around on any lists you might be on. We just know somebody knows something about someone looking for him. He is probably around 2 years old and has been neutered, and well taken care of. Jeff thinks he has PON and Beardie in him. I see, PON, Beardie and OES. If you can help us find his owners we'd be forever grateful. Please feel free to cross post on any lists. He did great last night! He is an awesome dog...very, very sweet and very smart. Knows all kinds of commands, probably more than we know to ask him, and he really wants to show them to you. He slept with Jeff in the guest room last night, and when Jeff got up to go potty during the night, he stole his spot. We're calling him Cola Bear now, as in Pensacola, where he was found. He is house trained and gets along with all of our dogs. He's calm and curious, which is amazing to me since he's been in a shelter for almost a month. When he was leaving the shelter, a mini-van pulled up with several kids in it, and he got very excited, as if he thought it was his family looking for him. He was disappointed when he realized they were not his family. His tail is fairly short, but not docked. His head is a PON head but he has smaller ears. He sometimes looks like an Old English Mix to me. Jeff says more Beardie. His body coat is thick and very coarse. Had to cut out a bunch of mats on his legs, but the rest of him is in good shape. His ears are clean, and he has a perfect scissors bite. He's happy, but, we both feel he is looking for his family, which we believe included kids. Before we offer him to anyone, we really want to make a genuine effort to find his family. Somebody is really missing this sweet boy. He was found in traffic in Pensacola, and we believe he may have been traveling through and perhaps gotten away when they stopped for gas or something. Unfortunately, the Animal Shelter was in the process of changing hands, and we know this guy probably fell through the cracks, especially since they had him listed as a female, and really thought he was, until last Thursday. So, if his family was looking for him, they would have been told there was no male there matching his description. Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to contact the Pensacola newspapers to check previous lost dog classifieds, and if nothing appears there, I'm going to try to get the local Newspaper to run a story about him asking anyone that knows anything about him to contact us. I'd also like as many people as possible to put his story up on every list they know of. Someone knows someone that is looking for this dog, or maybe they've even given up already since he was found February 20th. If you can post on any lists please do. You can use our email address and telephone number 352 369-3729 for anyone to contact if they have any information. Thanks, Merrilee and Jeff |

I read this the first time as POM and I thought you meant Pomeranian, in which case, the fact that you didn't show us photos was criminal. That would've been an interesting mix! |
