I've decided that I should get Maisey-Blue pet insurance, but I live in Canada, and was wondering if anyone had experience with insurance up here.... I kinda think she "may" have allergies.... Does anyone up here have any reccomendations? Thanks in advance.... |

I have looked before.. I think it's around $60.00 a month... never done it yet. You need to really check to see what they cover... ask your vet they should know. |
I pay $45.00 per month for my Bernese Mountain Dog and my Sheepie. The company I use is Pet Care.

This is a late reply to your question about pet insurance in Canada but this just happened to me yesterday (May 25 2009).
Am insured with Petplan now o/a Petsecure. Have had policies for 4 animals for 5 years, only amount they had to pay out previous to this year was approx $130.00 Animal got sick - paralysis of all limbs - motor neuron disease, had to be tested and treated by neuro specialist, admit large expenses to date, approx. $3,000.00 for neuro condition and approx $650.00 for gastro complications as a result of neuro meds. I pay 20% after $200.00 deductible. Yesterday, was advised because of "high risk" and "high claim experience" policy will renew with $500.00 deductible and policy will pay only50% of costs for any more claims for anything. Means $1,000.00 out of pocket for deductlble and then only minimal coverage. My thoughts? According to their ads and promises, this insurance is supposed to alleviate any anxiety over pet illness and prevent you from having to worry about approving care costs. This condtion is ongoing and has high recurrance factor. Where is my anxiety relief now? I am on a fixed income and this is not going to help me, but I cannot cancel - possibly what they hope for since policy cannot be cancelled. WATCH THE SMALL PRINT and do not be lured by ads claiming how much they have paid for claims in past. There is a catch. |
