hahaahaha...devils work...lol....
id personally go for an artichoke with hollandaise sauce (which you can dip your fish in too) or roasted tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and some basil........ |
What the heck's turbot? Is that a robotic fish?
What about sauteed spinach with a little olive oil and garlic? Mmm, or roasted asparagus? Or zucchini sauteed with dill? |
zucchini and yellow squash sauted in a light butter, just until tender, but crisp |
I second the asparagus. But I am also with Steph, when the heck is Turbot? |
I agree with the roasted asparagus - but with garlic and a little olive oil.... |
Turbot is a huge, well big flat fish from cold waters......kinda like halibut, maybe my favorite fish. YUUUUMMMM!
I like the asparagus idea. Though you could go with a spinach and green salad and just have some squash along with a nice pilaf. |
You kids. I've been eating turbot for almost 30 years. Very mild white fish. I get mine at Trader Joe's; it's already seasoned so I just fry it in the pan. I ended up making a steamed artichoke--plain, not even butter. I like it that way. And a russet potato that I sliced into french fries and did in the oven. Asparagus and artichokes are my fave veggies. But I like my asparagus pencil thin and what was in the store was too fat.
By the way, dinner was delicious. |
Sounds quite yummy!
I made pork tenderloin seasoned with garlic & herbs, herb & butter rice and a green bean casserole. Not bad. |
Sounds yummy. I also had never heard of that fish. Probably because Todd fishes (and catches!) so he looks upon "bought" fish as traitorous!
When fishing is bad, I threaten to buy fish sticks. I ate out with friends after our therapy dog visit - it was Linda's (who has Chewie's buddy Gabby) birthday. I had a pollo enchilada plate and a rio margarita. It was wonderful! |
Ohhh...Pollo Enchilada sounds delicious right now. |
How do those jumping fish (Asian Carp) in the Illinois River taste?

glad you went for the artichoke....i could eat those every night!!!!! yummers!! |
mmm, I love artichoke! |
I'm in a funny mood, but I can't get the song out of my head, but with changed lyrics to:
Thank you very mucha Mr. Turboto |
I'm a huge fan of artichokes, but...I just adore aspargus! I even buy it out of season, since its just for me and I only buy a little. Tony won't eat it. Paula, I only buy the thin ones too...the thick ones seem too "woody" for me. |
Dobo abrigato Mr. Turboto (I'm sure I mangled that spelling!)
Bit of totally useless trivia. Dennis DeYoung (leader of Styx and writer of most of their songs) was my 7th grade student teacher for music. My only celebrity connection. |

Hey! Rachael Ray bought me diamond earrings, an Ipod, a trip to NY, and a magnificent dinner at Ramsey's. I'd say...SHE LOVES ME! |
Come to think of it Deb, I don't recall seeing your episode...
