my lil service dog!! Tedward
When my oldest daughter (now 25) was born Dudley would sit next to her cradle and rock it with his nose whenever she would fuss. They grew up together and were connected at every point...she would lay on him and watch tv, he would make sure she wouldnt go off our lawn onto the sidewalk and herd her in the yard when she started walking...you get the picture. When I saw Teddy, his birthday was the same as my oldest daughter, he had the SAME FACE as Dudley, same black parts, same white parts, his name at the time was "Patch"...anyone who loves Dudley Moore knows thats the name of the character he played in the move "Santa Clause" he was an elf. All these things made me choose Teddy (my daughter named him Teddy)...but I didn't know how special Teddy was until I actually brought him home. You see I have a son who just turned 7 yesturday who is autistic. He never spoke one word until we got Teddy. At first he would sit on the floor with TEddy and just pet him. After awhile ....one day out of the blue...he said ..."dog"....(this was 2 yrs ago when he was almost 5) slowly but surely....Joey started talking to Teddy...only Teddy at first...but now two years later....he talks to everyone...he still has his moments and yoiu can't always understand him...but he talks...and he is mainstreamed in school with a special education program that he loves. Some people think I am crazy because I think Teddy is actually Dudley reincarnated, but not too many dogs love brocolli....Dudley and Teddy act the same, look the same and most of all treat my kids the same. Teddy is now in the process of getting registered as a service dog for my son. He rarely leaves Joey's side and if it is it's to come to me. Joey has learned to walk Teddy, and he wants Teddy to go with him everywhere. He has truly become Joey's support person in life. I just thought I would share this story with all the sheepie people in the world who would appreciate it. |

| Yes it would seem that way. We are both lucky and blessed to have them both and couldn't imagine life with out either. I will be updating my photo album with photos of both soon |

Since you're in Wildwood do you go to the dog show down there in February? I've been down there twice, once showing our OES, Frank. Great dog show location down there on the beach although Feb on the ocean is a little chilly. |
| Yes...we were there this feb. my daughter was thinking about showing TEdward soon but with all his duties to Joey it would be hard. He did go though and had a great time....and yes it is a chilly time to go to the beach but I love it here no matter what time of year it is...Tedward loves the beach so he likes it more in the winter when he can actually go to the beach and have fun...since he is not allowed to go in the summer...we live right across the street from the convention center too!! |
