Walter Gervais was in his late 70s when he took up 3 day eventing, which is one day of dressage, one day of cross-country jumping (over natural objects that do NOT fall down if you hit them, like log piles) and the final day of show jumping. All on the same horse. Walter evented until his 80s and just had to give it up because he had triple bypass. These oldsters are inspirational! |
Great story!
Wow. Almost makes you want to join the Army. |
Very cool!
My Uncle still runs full marathons and he is pushing 75 years of age. He does Boston & Chicago every year and a handful in other areas around the country. Totally blows me away... |

I have pictures of the Chicago marathon - they run around our building - and now that we are in Boston... we might just go check him out as they run pass my hubby's office. By the way, one of my clients in Chicago produced it on ABC news. |
great...another reason for me to keep smoking |
The man who manages our health club........sniff, sniff (closing end of month) is 74 retired Army Ranger. He teaches spinning classes every day as well as some gut wrenching aerobics routine. Yes, he runs marathons and does Iron Man. Once a Ranger always a Ranger I guess. He's a real sweet heart but won't call me anything other than Ma'am. Officer and gentleman. |
