go to the doctor! nothing is worse than a bone that is not set or set incorrectly...they may just splint it....take an ibuprofen before you go....
go on..go! |
I say get it looked at!!!!! I broke my pinkie finger and didn't have it looked at or fixed or whatever now I have a very crooked pinkie. |
I thought all they did was splint a broken finger...Maybe it depends on which one? |
Oh bless. that will really hurt. I am everso baby. years ago I stubbed my toe when our other sheepie went on a mad 5 minutes in the house and I tried to rescue the bird cage and ran into the table leg. I didnt break it just sprained it but it was so painful.
Let us know how you get on.... |
Daxton (my son) broke his finger in November(pinky). I thought sprained but the way he was carrying on.... well phones the nurses thank god small town. If bruised and purple and can not move or staight possible broken..... yup, they phoned(10:00pm) when a doc came in... we were lucky also xray tech had to come in do to some else getting badly hurt and slide Dax in. I will not say what they did to try and staighten his finger (I'm not a nurse because I hate everything that is painful) BUT I was a good mom and stayed with him this time. They did cast him and off we went. 1 day later Dax was sawing if off.... he was having a reation to the cast? So I did the finger splint thing and it did ok. And he has not gotten into any more fights. |
I injured my pinky playing basketball about 25 or 30 years ago. Bent the middle joint 90 degrees backward.. Actually saw it as I "looked the ball into my hands."
I didn't go to the doc, so I don't know if it was broken or not, but that joint is now thicker on one side than the other. It never bothers me. |
Ouch! I hope it feels better soon. |

It depends on the severity, if it's a fracture that's one thing but a solid break is another. 6 out of my 10 fingers are severely crooked thanks to having no insurance when we were kids and having the bones never set right. Even if it isn't severe as a kid, it can grow weird. My middle fingers actually turn sideways at the top knuckle from being broken more than once. They don't bother me but I look like a mutant if you look at my hands dead on. |
Gotta love the urgi-med. In and out. Not broken, just bruised. Taped together and hard to type. |
Glad it's not a break! |
Good, we didn't have to scare you with "leaky bone marrow" problems.
Maybe this way you'll get help around the house and an excuse from cooking for a few days. |

When it throbs, hold it above the level of your heart.
Ad you may want to think about soakingit in hot water (don't cook it!), several times a day for 15 minutes or so. It will help decrease the swelling and remove the bruising. And it will feel good. |
Just take a popsicle stick or equivalent, place it between your ring and pinkie finger and tape round the fingers, week or two will be healed and pretty straight.
