George in Texas
I don't like to judge but this is really ruthless if you ask me. George's family gave him up because they retired, moved to a smaller house and "want to travel". He's 11 years old! 
Seems like a great guy, http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displa ... d=10397232 . They gave up their dog after 11 years to travel... give me a break. I hope George finds a great home to spend his golden years. End of Rant. |

I remember once David said I would pick money the kids then him (before dogs) trying to make me feel bad. I said nope kids THEN money then him maybe NOW it would be dogs and then money(have to feed them) and he can keep the kids(teenages ) I think that scared him more.  Because he never said it again.  |
Sounds to me like there was never a bond between dog and family. Possessions are more easily discarded. Most  family members aren't. |

| I like to think "what goes around comes around" so George will go to a furever where they absolutely adore him and never leave him home alone. And his old family will miss him so much but George won't even look at them. |

George this time around. It is upsetting to see an ol' guy like that being turned in so owners can travel. Being 11, it doesn't seem like he'd be that demanding. Georgie... you deserve the very best and I'm glad TexOESR is there to give you a chance to find a family that will truly love you and will be there "til death do us part". Smoochies you, ya big handsome boy.

Actually when I saw this post I did think - well at least they didn't have him put down. I wonder if his age and stiffness has more to do with him being put up? |

| How does someone do that? I am in Texas and will try to see if there is someone who could keep and love him. Anyone know where he is in Texas? (kind of a big place)
George probably doesn't care if there is a small yard at his age! He probably won't live more than three more years - and there are dog sitters... I am just furious. We can't keep up taking care of the dogs that are in a tragedy much less irresponsible people that through dogs away for everyone else to deal with |
