I actually bought the concentrate that you mix 15-to 1 since I have the collie's too www.cherrybrook.com |
|
I've used it for almost 2 yrs now and like it. I use that and Mr. Groom (Recommended by lisaoes) on the dogs. |
Where do you get the Mr Groom? I am going to try and not shave her down and the collie is a lion right now with the winter coat she has |
I get mine on ebay as I live somewhere no one wants to ship to |
I just ordered some from Cherry brook. I haven't used it yet. I do use Ice on Ice though |
Which Mr Groom did you buy? The Protein, whitner or I was looking at the prickley pear with insect repellant. Especiall with Spring and summer coming the inscent repellant looks interesting. The Collie has a very thick coat so you really need to work the shampoo in, Phoebe's coat is not as thick |
I also get mine off ebay...shipping seems to be better at least for Canada |
It less expensive on ebay too but I don't know which one to buy. I am thinking the protein |
I have the Ice on Ice too and love it. What product are you taking about with Mr. Groom? |
The shampoo, with spring and Phoebe loving to be out running about making trouble I was interested in the prickly pear. What other products do you use from this line. |
This is the Mr. Groom I get:
http://www.mrgroom.com/images/ShowGroom.jpg I personally don't use anything else from this line... I like Chris Christensen and Spa Lavish products for shampoo/conditioners/whiteners. |
Crown Royale makes some good products, I use the bodifier. Never heard of Mr. Groom before, I'll have to give it a try. |

The whiskey? |
It makes grooming time just fly by |
ButtersStotch wrote: bestdogsx4 wrote: Crown Royale makes some good products. The whiskey? I like a nice Cabernet or Pinot while grooming. Tough to get out of the white if it spills. |

Now that's a grooming tool we can all use! |
See, this is why this forum is so useful to newcomers...It tells us how the pros do it .... |
We use Chris Chritensen on our doggies and I love it!
Ice on Ice is great for those little matts! We were introduced to it at the Nationals in PA a few years ago and reccomend it all the time! It works wonders! |
I used Ice on Ice for the first time this evening; it helped with the brush through (which isn't all that hard since mine are still young) but it also left their coats feeling VERY nice when dry! |
okay; Cabernet and grooming DO NOT mix.
I learned of a friend's death today; he died yesterday. But the day started nicely; I groomed the dogs using a bunch of new products I got at our pet fair on sunday. Anyway, after I heard the bad news, today became Cabernet and cup cake day. Trustme; they go GREAT together. Anyway, I was putting the girls to bed, and brushing them out. And I found myself cutting "bangs" into their hair, so you could see their eyes. It seemed like a good idea. But once I started, it was sort of hard. Perhaps it was the cabernet. Perhaps it was cuz I forgot to put my glasses on. And once I butchered Tonks, I'm not sure why I went on to butcher Luna. Maybe so Luna would stop laughing at Tonks. I'm blaming all of you, and the cabernet. |
I am sorry about your friend.
You did make me laugh though this morning, and considering what is going on in NY government offices this week that is a feat in itself. again sorry to hear about your friend. Kerry |

Kerry People pass, I suppose. He led an amazing life, was ackowledged for his work during his lifetime, and was much loved. I sppose while I would have liked for him to have had more than his 52 years, I should be so lucky to go out with half the adiration and accolades he did. And by daylight, and a mind a bit less drenched by wine, I suppose the dogs don't look THAT bad. |
Okay; forget "Ice on Ice"; I'm using ALL Chris Christensen products from now on!!!
Today we did the whole 4 step process; started with "Day by Day" moisturizing shampoo; it can be used daily if necessary. It won't dry their fur or skin out. That was followed by "Thick N Thicker" volumizing protein rinse. I wasn't sure this was necessary on sheepies, I mean volume just doesn't seem like a problem. But I thought "its part of the recommended process, I'll do it this once". Then onto "After Bath" rinse solution. Then out of the tub, a towel dry and a spray in of "Ice on Ice" and a blow dry and comb out. OH MY GOD My puppys feel so soft; they look SO good. And they fluffed up just right and stayed that way. Often their fur will go back into those sort of whacky puppy curls a few hours after thier bath, but they stayed nice and fluffed. But the real test? Adam took my newly groomed pups to the dog park. They usually return home with dirty paws (if not mud soaked) and a ton of dried grass and twigs in their coats. Well the Ice on Ice says it repels dirt and dust, and son of a gun IT DOES. The bits of the park that my pups usually bring home with them just seemed to fall away! Last but not least; while wrestling at the park Tonks rolled her head into dog poop! Her newly washed head-- poopy. I applied "Show Off", rubbed it in, rubbed it out, repeated. It says that it's a no-rinse cleanser, but I rinsed anyway (i thought it unsanitary to leave possible poop residue on my dog). And she's perfect again. I can't say enough nice things about my experience today! I bought a sort of sampler kit that had each item in it. I originally didn't want to invest in everything in case I didn't like it. If anyone is interested, I got it here: Link to Chris Christensen System Kits on Cherrybrook.com I also got the kit with "White on White"; I'll try that next bath time. I used the Mr. Groom whitening shampoo the last time we bathed; and it was nice, if a bit drying. I don't want to use a whitening shampoo too often, even though they don't have bleaches in them. I think the rep. I spoke to recommended a sort of once-a-month schedule when I said I washed my girls every 7-10 days. |
We use all their products as well, but I love their "After rinse" the most. It gets rid of anything you didn't while shampooing and it just takes a quick rinse for it all to come off. .......and it smells good.
Since those products, I've tried spa lavish and coat handler. those are amazingggggggggg! |
