You can try doing a search on this OES pedigree site to see if anything pops up there: http://www.furcertain.com/ Once a couple of names come up, you can keep building the pedigree history.
It's going to be difficult to find old photos. Sometimes you get lucky if a dog is really well known, recently shown or someone has taken the trouble to put historical photos & info out there. Google is your friend... I'm not familiar with the breed club in the UK, but perhaps you can look on their web site too or contacting someone through the club that might be able to give you more insight. |
Funny - I just off the phone with the person who initiated the furcertain site. He and I collaborate on it.
You can add your dog to the site if you'd like. Actually, right now, anything that gets submitted to furcertain also gets added to the OESCA health registry database. For actual info on your dogs' ancestors, yes, by all means try google - it seems like the Europeans (and Australians) are lightyears' ahead of American breeders when it comes to having great websites that really feature the dogs. I did a search on some of the dogs behind my youngest, having bred to a European import, and up popped a picture of granddad doing agility at age 8 or something like that. Pretty cool. Less likely to find that kind of fun background info on American dogs. Pity. Kristine |
