what would u do?

How long is it okay to have in crate.. my dog is already in there all night from about 9pm or 10pm on forward till 7am.. So how many hours during the day can you actually have your dog in the crate shes already one year old.. the problem is she isnt housebroken well yet STILL.. and I work from home.. if she is in the crate she barks and whines and even if she is out she barks and whines for my attention cause im in the back room working. I just need ideas for her.. I take her for a 2 hour walk a day before I work.. but I dont know if i leave her out the crate expect a lot of pee mess.. I can only stop work for 2 -10 min breaks to take her out, she will the nbark at my door all day for attention. Then if i put her in the crate that is just to long for her even with the 2 breaks.. she is bored in there too and barks and that is cruel after being in there all night. Need ideas to keep her occupied and what would u do in this case..

This depends on the dog, the age of the dog, and a number of other factors. Based on your dog being a year old, up to eight hours during the day, and a little longer overnight are probably OK. Just make sure she has access to water throughout the day.

OES are, by and large, social animals and if you're home, they'll want to be with you. Is there a reason that she can be with you while you're working? The barking could be indicative of boredom and/or mild separation anxiety. More mental stimulation should help with the first, and a professional trainer may be able to help with the second.

If she needs to be in the crate, give her something to do. Kongs filled the night before and frozen so that they take longer to get through. Puzzle-type toys (e.g., everlasting treat ball) are also good. If you're unable to take her out during the day, perhaps a dog-walking service is an option. That way she'd get to work some of the energy off, and perhaps get to socialize with other dogs.

The two hour walk seems a little extreme to me, but I don't know your dog. You may need to re-evaluate how your walks happen. I know that Barkley is more tired after a 10-minute training session than he is after 30 minutes of walk/play outside. Perhaps your dog needs more mental stimulation?
Is there a reason she still isn't housebroken? I could be wrong, but 1 year old seems really old to still be having accidents. Tucker is 11 months and hasn't had an accident since he was about 5 months old. And I agree - why can't puppy be in your office with you? If he's just laying by your feet quietly (which would likely be the case)?
