This will be our first and we're due Sept. 15th. It's all very exciting, but it was a little unexpected. (The doctors made me get off of the pill after my blood clot.. and I guess the rest of the story is self explanatory. Ha.) Anyway... yay. We're happy. We'll find out what we're having at the beginning of May) I knew you were going to be preggers any time now by what you would always post ...like Barns. I'm so happy for you! Don't you be going MIA in May because we want to know what you're having! What are you hoping for? Any names yet? |
|
lol Thanks for the thread. I did think I would just casually mention it..
I really want a little girl and Jason really wants a boy, so we'll see. We're still thinking about names, but we have plenty of time. It's so weird right now. I'm not showing (although I do feel fatter..lol) and other than feeling sick, it's hard to feel like I'm really pregnant. I guess when I start to get a bump I'll feel more pregnant? I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks though, and we saw the little baby bean and the heartbeat, and that was really awesome! My next appointment is on Wednesday. I want 20 weeks to hurry up and get here so we'll know what it is!! Time seems to be taking forever. |
Congrats Stephanie and Jason!!!!
Yes, you deserve your own post. Good luck with this 1st stage, it is all important on the inside (developmentally) but not so interesting on the outside! Of course, pictures are needed |
Woohoo! Congrats! Yeah, another one
I mostly started feeling pregnant when I could actually feel her move, around 16 weeks. Other than that it was pretty hard (well, still is!) to imagine that it's all real. Do you have a feeling as to what it might be? |

Stephanie and Jason, CONGRATULATIONS! This is fantastic!!!! |
Congratulations!!!!! Welcome to the club. |
Thanks everyone! I can't wait to fit into the cute little maternity shirts I see everywhere. I'm ready to start enjoying the pregnancy. So far, I am still feeling sick a lot so I spend a lot of time in bed, but I hear it will all get better soon. I'm about 12 weeks now, and they say most women feel pretty good by 14 weeks. (I hope so, because the last 6 weeks have felt like one long, bloated hangover..lol).
lisaoes wrote: Wonder who will have quads Well not me! When they did our 8 week sonogram the nurse said, "Look, there's only 1." I said well there better be only 1!! When was anything else an option? lol barney1 wrote: Do you have a feeling as to what it might be?
No, but my friend lent me this book with all of these little tests to help find out. Some of them are really weird (something about putting salt in your hair and see if your nose itches), and most of them say to wait until your a little ways along. However, according to the chinese conceiving calendar in there, I'm having a boy. And there's another test that says to pee in a cup and add some Drain-o and see what color it becomes, but she said not to do that one because when she did it the cup exploded. |
hee hee hee. Those little 'tricks' to find out what you're having are so funny. There's a few of us at my work who are around the same pregnant and we were bored for a while and so we did a bunch of them (with one girl not yet knowing what she was having and me knowing).
We did the needle/string test, where you thread a needle and have the pregnant person hold out their hand (I think left, but I'm not sure) and then the other person dips the thread between the thumb and forefinger three times and then hold it over the pregnant person's open palm. If it swings back and forth it's a boy, if it circles it's a girl. Then, I guess you can repeat it and as many times as it does the trick, it'll predict all your children. When it won't swing/circle for you anymore, you know you're done having kids. My Chinese gender predictor was correct. (well, as far as we know!). But my friend at work...ALL the tricks and the Chinese gender and everything ALL said she was having a girl...and she found out a week later it's a boy, so who knows. It's all fun though. |
Intelligender has like a 90%+ rate for being correct (whether that's true or not..measures something in your urine), and it was in the Dallas paper not that long ago as being credible. It's cheap to get and you can find out as early as 10 wk gestational (note i said gestational which differs I believe from actual wks pregnant).
Anyway, after googling FOREVER.. no one who had a girl had it come up wrong. There seems to be a higher percentage of wrong for boys; however, it said boy for me, and it was right. I did it for fun because it was a gift, and of course did not rely on it to be accurate or go out buying blue clothes. You can find it at maternity stores too. I don't think you can find out the gender unless dna is involved?? ...but I will get it again when we have our next one. |

Do YOU have an announcement? |
I wish. No P while I bf, so if 12-13 months have passed... then I would expect an announcement. While it's true some people get one if they didn't w/their first... I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, I truly am excited to hear about everyone on the board getting preggers. Guess spreading dust around everywhere works. It's been booming around here since I got preggers with my first. |
Keep the dust over there!! |

My mom peed in a cup and gave it to a frog to drink it (her dear colleagues got her a frog). If the frog dies, she is pregnant. If the frog lives, she is not pregnant. The frog died. But 9 months later my sister was born. She did the same thing 2 years later, 9 months later I was born. |
That's nuts! I would never want to kill a frog though. I used to play with the little dime-sized ones when I was little. (I was going to have a "frog circus" and teach them tricks...lol)
I think the 5 pregnancy tests I took were enough proof for me. I didn't quite believe the first few. |
Congrats!!!
I heard it's easier for a man to produce a girl because he has the pattern underneath him. Guess it could work the opposite, soooooo....... May God bless mommy, daddy and your little one with long life and good health! Pam (mouthypf) |
