I can't wait for new episodes to see what the twins and tups are up too!!!! I need to get a life.... |

I have only caught re-runs and only a few episodes, but is that the impression left for most people?
At first I thought she was a ...mean lady... but she handles 8 better than I ever could. It's hard enough to do anything with 2 AND keep your cool that I'm actually impressed how she has handled the things I've seen and totally understand her blowups. However my husband finds her hypocritical towards her husband. Says one thing, says no to his suggestion, kids whine, she gets upset, and end result is her going with husband's suggestion but giving him no credit for it. |
She treats her husband like an idiot. She shushes and corrects him like a child. He needs to stand up for himself and she needs to learn how to deal with adults. It hurts me to watch her interact with her husband.
Maddie is the only reason I watch the show. |
Sometimes she acts like it's his fault they have so many kids, but then I couldn't even imagine what her actual life is like (nor would I want to). |

Maddie is the only reason I watch the show. Oh- she is horrid!! And he has no spine at all. I DVR is so I can forward through the interviews. My husband can hardly watch-- he says all they do it whine and fight. Adults and kids. BUT-- I LOVE to see those kids! Spoke volumes on last nights episode when Mady drew a family picture-- with only two kids in it! How funny is that! |
The only episode I saw for more than 5 minutes, she was much better. She was giving him credit. It was HER idea to go for more babies after the twins, he wasn't all for it but went along. He did admit he could have said no, but really didn't want to. (I'm sure he thought.......a single birth). Ha!
Her belly before plastic surgery was .....impressive, but not as impressive as it was at the end of the pregnancy. I have no desire to see anymore of that show. |
I think John is getting more ballsy lately! i think Kate is misunderstood. She is left to fend for herself for 8 hours a day and see how well behaved they are. The kids aren't starved for attention or unloved they know who they are.
I just think that somewhere along the lines someone pushed and someone gave and it started a pattern that i think is breaking up. Those kids are sooo cute! Ren m |
I started watching because she has the same medical condition I have, so when I was thinking about having kids, all I could think of was that I was going to end up like this!
I love this show. It fascinates me. It helps, of course, that all the kids are adorable. I love how different Maddie and Cara are. One is such a drama queen and one is just a happy kid. Sometimes I think Kate goes too far, but in the interviews you can see that for the most part they crack each other up, so I think it's all part of their relationship dynamic with the fighting/arguing. Jon doesn't seem to have much of a spine, but he does seem to be sticking up for himself more now. And even though Kate is a control freak, I think you would have to be in order to take care of all those kids at once. |

I don't watch a lot of TV but I like this show too. I think they're very real - and heaven knows if I had 2 six year olds and 6 two year olds I'd be a way bigger &$(#& than Kate is. They do remarkably well, IMO. |
Kate is a nurse....we're all control freaks. I've never heard her specialty but I'd bet Critical care or ED.
I too have wondered about their families not being involved. What a shame for them, missing out on those kids. Wonder what's up with that? |
They're going to be on Oprah today to give organizational tips for large families! |
did anybody see them on Oprah. I would have recorded it but i read the post too late :<

Ren < Yes-- and the kids were just adorable!! Jon and Kate seemed so much more relaxed on Oprah than they do on their own show. Colin and Aaden got into it on the couch on the set. Cracked me up!! It was short and sweet. But fun. I just love those little bugs. |
I wish I read your post b
I watched Ellen instead |
Yeah, I DVR'd it so I could watch it after work. It was good--and yes, they did seem so much more relaxed. And I didn't know that Jon was out of work for almost a year after the 6 were born. That's amazing that they survived as well as they did.
I was hoping for more, but the segment was relatively short. |
