Probably less political and more the fact that rescue volunteers are just that - volunteers. And they tend to be pretty swamped. It's not an excuse, but we've had similar problems in WI - hey, this home sounds promising, now who's going to follow up?

Hang in there.

Kristine
Yeah... it's volunteers who donate their time and energy to do rescue. We also had a weekend and President's Day in there. If you haven't already done so, maybe consider completing their OES rescue adoption applications while you await a reply...

Having an already approved adoption application on file with a rescue is a good way to get near the top of the list... you may even be contacted about dogs that haven't yet made it online. If there are rescues in other areas where you can travel to, you might also submit applications to them too.

I wanted to adopt a "defective" sheepie that was difficult to place and it took over about 2 1/2 weeks for us to finally get her. Don't be discouraged... the process can take time. And it's all about finding the best match for the dog AND the human so the dog will have a forever home this time around.
yes, i already have.

that post of mine was out of line... i am just impatient to meet the dog... sorry
Don't worry about it... we ALL get impatient when waiting for an Old English Sheepdog to share our lives with :D
Sometimes it can take a long time. I know it's tough. I had all but given up on my Komondor when getting him through rescue and they finally contacted me about three weeks later to come and meet him after I had sent followups a couple of times a week. I think they just got sick of me!
He looks like a guy worth waiting for so please don't give up.
Each rescue runs their operation differently. Some want to keep the dog for a few weeks to assess the dog before considering adoption. Not every home will fit a particular dog. The rescue person(s) try to fit the dog to the family.

Remember, there may be others who waiting for a dog longer than you.
