So other than keeping them clean with a damp wash cloth what else can I do until we can get to the vet. Thanks for your help Becky and Miley |

Sounds like an eye infection to me, but he also may have scratched something.
I would just use warm wet compresses on his eye until the roads are better enough to get him to the vet. If only an infection, they will probably give you an eye antibiotic and/or steroid cream/drops to put in his eye. Sorry to hear about the crappy weather. |
I agree - sounds just like the eye infection Tucker had late fall. The vet tested to see if there was a scratch, but there wasn't, so he just sent us home with a little bottle of eye drops. After a few treatments it was all gone. |
Thank for the help. Our regular vet is within walking distance so we should be okay but the weekend on call is over 1/2 hour away.
I am thinking she may have scratched her eye on one of those many time she has stuck her head into the snow banks. I am so ready for spring - bring on those muddy paws!! Thanks for the advice |
If you have english tea at home you can bathe his eye with some cold tea works wonders. We are also doing this with our young boy as his eye has an infection. Get well soon |
I'm sorry Miley is going through this....and glad you are getting the snow instead of us |
How is Miley doing today? |
all three have had this the pollen in fla. there is a cream to get not to worry! |
Thanks for all your help. Miley went to the vet yesterday and she did have an eye infection. The vet prescribed eye drops and she is doing much better. Now if only the roads would clear up as fast as her eye is doing it would be great. I am tired ice & snow covered roads.

Hi,
Sending belly rubs to Miley and glad that it's not something more serious. I feel your pain regarding the weather and can't wait for spring! Marianne |
That's good news.
I hope your weather gets better. It has bypassed us lately and dumped on IA and you guys in WI. Weird weather! |
Glad your girl is getting better!
I heard you guys have had record snow this winter. Yikes! |
