So fess up. We won't laugh..... |

I have a "dog tree" that I couldn't bear to put away. I usually wrap it carefully and pack it away but this year I've left it up.
|
I don't purposely have anything still up - unless you count the white lights on the little tree outside that act like a yard light. I have however found the following whihc I missed while packing up and which are all stored on my living room half wall until I am sure I have mostly all of it to make one last trip to the storage boxes:
two decorative gift bags, one basket; three assorted ornaments; a string of lights- found "stored" on the pantry shelf; and a handfull of ornament hooks found under the box of ornaments after the box was carried downstairs! This year I was determined to get everything put away at once and was extra careful about checking every room. Apparently this cannot be helped when you decorate every room in the house. |
Though I love that maltese decor... all of you w/Christmas stuff still up should be ashamed. Although I'll say I think those w/ decor outside still are worse |
Everything inside is put away. The outside lights are still up, but turned off. I don't take those down until the weather is nice enough to spend time outside without mittens on |
No all down I'm superstitious so they come down before 12th night!! |
Still have the wreaths on all four outside doors and still have the candle lights in all windows. |
Oooh, I forgot the candle lights in the bedroom. And the real pointsettia in the living room. But I have to wait til it dies! |

Hey there. |
I have around Santas sitting on the buffet waiting for me to put them away. They don't have boxes yet.
I decided to store the Santa ornaments differently, so that is a work in progress. I bought 15 Elfa wire baskets and frames on sale. They are stacked and my husband made a rolling base that can support the weight of the baskets/frames/ornaments. I am making a basket liner out of quilted fabric for each drawer, with a separate cover. A couple of the drawers have two layers of ornaments. I am not yet halfway through with it. My husband likes this idea (not how long it is taking me to finish) becuase it took hours to get them out of the individual boxes and back in. My Christmas dishes are still in the breakfast room cabinet, waiting to be put away. I am making storage containers for them too. And in case you haven't realized that I have OCD, I have a picture of each of my ornaments, figurines and dishes. They are also list in an Excel program. (Monk is my hero) <sigh> |
A living, still in great condition pointsettia in the kitchen.
A real evergreen spray with a cranberry color ribbon that transitioned nicely to St. Valentine's day. Weather forecast is for heavy rains and high winds this weekend so I'll take it down tomorrow. Easter is March 30--hope we don't have a blizzard |
I don't have any decorations but I did find a gift that I forgot to give the other day It was under a pile of clothes that apparently hasn't moved since before Christmas. |
Do you think it's bad that we still have some of last year's 4th of July stuff around? |

For shame . I must confess i still have a wreath up in my bathroom, I guess I got so used to seeing it there I ceased to notice it |
I still have minnie Xmas lights on my Norfolk pine. The ligths cheer me up in the evening! |
Our outside lights are still up too... but also turned off.
If I could reach them I would take them down. But I can't. So they must wait for hubby to get a round to it. I also still have my christmas cards up. But they cover up the back of my ugly cabinets. |
