Sausage Bread 1 pound ground sausage 2 eggs 1 cup Parmesan cheese (or shredded cheddar and jack) 1 loaf frozen bread dough(Rhodes), thawed--DO NOT ALLOW TO RISE ( I put it in the refrigerator about 8pm the nite before and it was ready to use in the morning) Brown sausage--drain. Cool somewhat. Flatten bread dough on cookie sheet (I flattened it to the size of the jelly roll pan). Stir together eggs, meat, and cheese. Spread on bread. Roll up from the long side and seal edges. Lay seamside down. Bake immediately at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. **Use only 1/2 pound sausage to make bread less dense. Good hot or cold. |

Mmm... we're going to try that! I love easy foods that taste great!
something similar that i do at least every other week (on a sat afternoon when i want an easy lunch) I do Pillsbury's pizza crust unroll to same size as yours put sandwich pepperoni slices (just 1 slice until you fill up about 3/4th of the bread leaving last part of unrolled dough empty so you can fold easier) then put same amount of genoa (sp??) salami spread mozzarella/provolone mix cheese on top w/italian seasoning (again, enough just to cover...no need to put too much) roll up. 350 degrees for 25-27 min, flip and bake until that side is just as evenly golden brown (like 5-10 min more minutes) also before making: put your pepperoni slices on paper towels and microwave for about 40 seconds. this prevents grease coming out of roll (a must). also adding too much meat outside of enough to just cover the dough is "too much." trust me! It's soooooooooooooooo good and always a hit at every party. mr' j's favorite snack. |
Both recipes sound delicious! Must try them both. |
