Yup. Basically, you have a short backed dog, which is good in sheepdogs!! Lots of boy sheepdogs squat for a long time if not all of their lives. Wipe downs and some cornstarch or cornstarch based powder to help dry the area out afterwards. |
oh yes if you search you will be sure to find other threads on this. I have to say Morgan does it and since he runs outside I am sure he doesn't get bathed every time he does it. I use Ice on Ice spray to keep uit from penetrating the coat. |
Thanks for the tips . Its more like a front leg bath when it gets bad . What is Ice on ice ? |
Nigel pees on his front legs almost every time he pees. He lifts his leg a lot now, but he was neutered last week, so we will see if he goes back to squatting. I could use help on a quick clean up too. If I see him do it, I grab a towel on the way in, but I don't wash it all off. He will just do it again the next time. BOYS!!!! |
Do you shave his under-belly and trim the hair on the dangling? The longer the hair on the dangling thing the more they squirt on their legs. |
I keep the area around Barkley's penis well trimmed (#30 blade), and he doesn't seem to have the problem you describe. I know he's ready for a trim when he starts peeing forward instead of basically straight down.
I've been told that leaving a "tassle" is a good thing if you've got a leg-lifter, but it seems to make things worse on the dogs who squat. |
Thank goodness for baby wipes..... |
